Best time to shop at Op Shops Australia
Op shops in Australia can be a treasure trove for vintage clothing, unique furniture, and other second-hand items. If you’re planning on hitting up some op shops, it’s good to know when is the best time to shop. Here are some tips on the best time to shop at op shops in Australia:
1. Weekdays
Weekdays are generally the best time to shop at op shops in Australia, as they tend to be less crowded compared to weekends. If you want to have first dibs on the best items, try to go on a weekday morning when the op shop opens. This will give you a better chance of finding those hidden gems before they get picked over.
2. Sale Days
Many op shops in Australia have special sale days where they offer discounted prices on selected items. These sale days can be a great time to shop as you can score some amazing bargains. Keep an eye out for advertisements or ask the staff at your local op shop about any upcoming sale days.
3. End of Season
Op shops often receive donations of clothing and other items at the end of each season. This means that you can often find great deals on seasonal items as the op shop tries to clear out their inventory to make room for new donations. For example, you might be able to score winter coats at a fraction of their original cost at the end of winter.
4. Holidays
Holidays like Christmas, Easter, and Halloween can be a great time to shop at op shops in Australia. Many people clean out their closets before these holidays and donate items to op shops. This means that you might be able to find some unique holiday-themed items or decorations at a fraction of the cost of buying them new.
5. Op Shop Tours
If you’re not sure where to start with op shopping or want to discover new op shops in Australia, consider going on an op shop tour. These tours are often organized by local vintage or thrift stores and can be a fun and efficient way to explore multiple op shops in a single day. Plus, the tour guides are usually experts in op shopping and can give you tips and tricks for finding the best items.

in the last weekOne of my favourite op shops. Great range, especially manchester, books (organised by author, love that), kitchen wares, and much more. Friendly staff. I love that they’re open on Sundays too.5 months agoused to be a great op shop and now they’ve gone insane on prices. some items costing more than they would brand new and when asked about it they blame it on inflation?? what happened to op shops being affordable and having adequate pricing for the less fortunate souls. absolute rip off merchants considering they are a charity. disgraceful.a month agoGreat selection of clothes and toys, but woah, those men at the collection bays are so disgruntled with no respect for the donations.11 months agoWe were able to pick up a fair few great condition history and business books, some cool toys and kitchen sets for cheap here, Staff were friendly and got us a box to carry it out.Parking bay was full but we could park on the street nearby.
9 months agoWhoever prices the items needs to leave and find themselves a job at an antique store. You would be doing the community a huge favour ? Your prices are absolutely ridiculous. If you price your items according to antique shops, then you should be taxed like one too. You’re a business, not a charity.

Great clean goods, friendly staff ?
Some mixed feelings about this place, store layout not great! No spot to wait for fitting room as it’s right when you walk in after a table is placed right in the entry, so you clash with people waiting in the queue. Once you find something and need to try it on you seem to be in everyone’s way! Especially staff trying to get right up in your grill because there’s clothing racks Infront of where you wait for the fitting room. Patron’s are rude and impatient also, even though you have under the amount allowed to try on, when clearly no-one else adheres to that rule and take ages to finish!!!
Nice store good quality good,S VERY PLEASANT STAFF ?
Very caring staff members
Whoever does the pricing needs a special mention here. Absolutely foul, disgusting overpriced op shop, if you can even call yourselves that now.
You’re a business who should be taxed like every other!!
Your prices have sky rocketed in the last 6 months. Who’s to blame? Is it a new staff member? Are you now trying to match retail prices? Let me remind you that you get everything for free and you’re meant to be cheap.
I think head office need a major overhaul of the staff here who seem to be emotionally connected to just about everything they put out with ‘i dont want to sell it’ prices!
