a week agoThis walmart has the smallest produce section than the other ones in this area. The layout is very odd compared to Milpitas & San Jose. Lots of items locked up. Cashier was very nice though.3 months agoI needed something from the glass case. All the doors were unlocked, except the door that had the item I wanted. When I asked staff for help, he just said he didn’t have a key and walked away. Another customer helped. ???a week agoIt’s generally fine except God forbid something you want is behind one of their many locked cabinets (like zip ties – because why tf would you not lock away zip ties?). Nobody will be there to help open it for you. You can press the call button, but nobody will come. You can ask an employee to help, but they won’t have the key. They also won’t know where the person who has the key is. The person who has the key may actually just be a fictional person who doesn’t exist for all I know.a week agoWent to purchase plastic bins for storage and when getting home discovered broken and cracked containers along with missing parts. There’s a lot of issues I found when trying to find things whether they were not where they said they would be or that parts were broken cracked or missing. Then the chaos of other shoppers being ignorant n oblivious made the experience less than pleasurable. Purchased a set of 4 and only getting 3.in the last weekI felt like I was in the Twilight zone. In a good way. I’m from WA State and the employees there tend to avoid eye contact as if they are trying to avoid you. This Walmart was different. I’ve been there 5 times within the past 2 weeks and everytime I have that lost look, an employee was quick to assist me. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

She doesn’t say hello, she just barks at you like an angry Chihuahua,”You can’t return that.”. “I told you so.” Long white hair older Caucasian woman. I hope you find some other job where you don’t berate people on a daily basis. I hope you find some other job where you aren’t around people. I hope you find some other job where you learn how to treat people better. I won’t be back to this store because they clearly don’t care how customers are treated. Even the guy selling hot dogs outside In the parking lot In the dark was polite.Also the policy said said, I wasn’t allowed to return my item for something that was half the cost. It had to be the same cost, same item or more expensive item which makes no sense.
in the last weekFrom the staff to the people you see inside just unacceptable, theft, profanity, workers yelling throughout the store in Tagalog (Philippine language) to each other, when trying to ask staff questions many could not speak English or did not want to … it was like they had a inside click of older Filipino women that either did not like there job or customers as when I tried to ask to have the cabinets opened to buy socks and underwear they started yelling at one another in Tagalog 6-7 isles away and laughing, when I left to try and find someone else to help me I found another of the group, I asked for help with the locked cabinets again and no response to me, just them yelling back and forth laughing, saying oh tangang matabang bata or in English, stupid fat boy ….. I lived in the Philippines for five years and know the lingo or I would have never known the disrespect these employees were dishing out, I wish I could choose to never go back to that store but it is very close to my house and I am not going to let them get the best of me … I try to live by example, and lead with my best foot forward, to treat people how I would want to be treated …. not like some trash beneath my feet ? To the older Filipino ladies at Walmart… Shame on you, your mother and father would be ashamed of your behavior, is this how you were taught to treat people? I doubt it. Unfortunately, they didn’t have enough inventory. The shelving was practically empty. Better logistics perhaps is needed. We ended buying it in Santa Maria as we were already there last weekend. Line for customer service ridiculously long. Walmart delivered television that I canceled. TV did not come on time when they said it was gonna to. They delivered the television after I purchasing another tv. Ask them to pick it up they couldn’t give me a set time when they could pick it up. I was expected to sit around all day for delivery with the window of 9 AM to 8 PM. They feel nobody works and can sit around all day and wait FedEx to come and pick up deliveries.
Two hours after the television was delivered I ended up having to return the television directly to the store myself. television had never been opened but employees felt it necessary to open an unopened box and verify that the television was actually in the box.
Great supercenter Walmart, Very large selection of goods and food. Here you can buy everything you need.
They offer an incredible selection in every aisle, making it easy to find everything I needed. I also felt secure with the presence of the big security guards standing by the door, which is a reassuring touch. The staff provided good service, and I left the store with everything I wanted. Walmart in Castro Valley is definitely a place to get my essentials.
Since Covid19 I’ve used Walmart delivery and order-online curbside pickup. Going into the store is only for same-day needs. Give it a try and stop living like it’s 1997 or 2015. It’s convenient and time efficient.
I guess the cashiers and door people are the only ones who know what customer service is. The employees stocking/dressing the aisles just pretend that customers are not there. They will look at you and make no effort to greet, help, or move out of the way.
