a week ago1. Book table. Call and speak to staff first for weekend. Highly recommended. 2. We went for lunch on Sunday. Awesome experience in terms of staff courtesy, lunch food quality and overall atmosphere. Very professional setting for casual talks. We loved it.We had veg biryani. I must say that it was the best after very long time and I couldn’t get this quality in sydney. Hats off to the owner for setting up this restaurant and managing well. Wish them good luck for their hard work.
Kids friendly menu and taste suits kids also.
2 months agoGood Indian food, particularly for Newcastle. There were six of us and we had a range of vegetarians and non-vegetarian entrees and mains. It was odd they initially put the 6 of us on a table for four, but the service was friendly and the food arrived in short order. All the dishes were very good and everyone liked what they had with the exception of the vegan butter chicken which was too sweet. The mixed bread basket is good value and was enough for all of us.2 weeks agoCustomer service was friendly, prompt and top class. Food was absolutely delicious. Well presented and well balanced. Atmosphere was great and the whole place was very clean including the white cloth napkins. Will definitely come back and bring friends. We enjoyed the garlic prawns, kadhai goat and bhindi do piaza especiallya month agoVery good Indian, good service and well priced. Dishes look small but are quite deep and filling. Would recommend, worth the visit to Newcastle.4 weeks agoWe ate here last night 18th December 2023. The level of service was out of this world, the cocktails were amazing and the food was 10/10. I have been eating Indian food for around 40 years now and I would have to say Sapphire Indian Restaurant is one of the best I have eaten at. As I’ve worked in customer service all of my life I tend to notice if your greeted with a smile when you enter a place and the staff didn’t disappoint. The owners were exceptionally friendly as all the staff were and it was such a beautiful dining experience. We couldn’t eat all of our food so they were happy to give us containers to pack the leftovers. Also I would like to add that throughout our 2 hour dining experience we were looked after very well even though there were other customers in the restaurant. It’s only a 25 minute drive from where we live so we will definitely be back for more GREAT SERVICE GREAT COCKTAILS GREAT FOOD. 10/10 for everything and well done. Thank you for making our experience enjoyable. ???

Great service and good if you are craving some quick Indian food. All pre made curries, breads, nibbles. They do have some seating but wouldn’t call it a restaurant. Ideal for takeaway.
The spinach paneer( cottage cheese) was highlight, the meat samosas not so much the pastry layer was really thick, the chicken wrap was decent.
This restaurant is a close match to Indian restaurants at Wentworthville NSW. Authentic tasting Indian dishes at reasonable price. Just don’t expect for any presentation and ambience. Staff could do some smile, all ladies look tired and bit grumpy. We came on a Friday almost 9pm.
Raj’s has always been my go to place for Indian food ever since I moved to Newcastle. The food is authentic indian as it can be. They have a wide variety of curries and snacks. The food is fairly priced. The staff is very polite and professional.
I may be spoiled coming from Melbourne, but I found the meat in the lamb korma to be incredibly tough. The flavours of the sauce were the saving grace of the dish. Butter chicken was better, but when they used breast fillet, that was dry and tough. Some small changes in meat prep might end up yielding excellent results and more 5 stars.
Samosa chat was very dry. We have to pay $1 for 10-15ml(mini tub) of tamarind chutney and $0.5 for yoghurt chutney.
Spicy Potato is a deep-fried potato mix. Super dry as well.
Worst corner.
It only gets worst. I didn’t have cash and they charged me $2.
