We always stop here when travelling from Sydney to Newcastle. The toilets are always clean. There is plenty of space for a stretch and a few shaded tables for a sit.

Informative rest area with lots of car spots and benches. Toilets were very filthy, had to skip them though they’re stocked with toilet rolls.

The toilets are disgusting, wet floors, smell like urine, no soap it’s just revolting if you don’t arrive just as they have been cleaned. It lets the whole place down because the parking is fine. My recommendation go to the bathroom elsewhere then stop here.

Regular last stop on my way back from Brisbane. Clean toilets, grassed areas for the dog and all round nice place to stop before you hit the Sydney driving madness!

Good spot to stop on your trip between Sydney and Newcastle. Plenty of parking spots and toilets available. The reserve next to this rest area is also a good birdwatching spot, with sightings of uncommon birds such as the Regent Bowerbird and green catbird and topknot pigeon.

  1. Great rest area along the M1. Don’t count on driver reviver tho. They are never there. On the odd occasion you do catch them, they service instant coffee and terrible pies. Worth stopping to see the other coffee van that’s open 7day. Barista coffee, excellent food and the best service.

  2. Lovely people volunteering to provide free hot drinks and biscuits for travellers. Was nice to stop on our way south 20 December 2023. Only let down was the toilets. Dirty, no soap, and surrounded by smokers gassing them out. Big thanks to those who give their time and subsidies for this valuable service. You are appreciated.
