4 months agoI recently ordered a custom cake f I must say that my experience was far from satisfactory. I had high hopes for a delightful cake to celebrate a special occasion, but unfortunately, my expectations were not met in any way.the most concerning issue was the absence of the cut-out boy head on the cake.What added to my disappointment was the owner’s response when I expressed my concerns. He claimed that the mistake was on our end for accepting the cake. This response was both unprofessional and unsympathetic to the situation. I would never return to the shop again..Please be careful when ordering especially custom cake
4 months agoI had a disappointing experience with Continatal Cake Shop recently. I ordered a cake from them twice, and both times there were issues with the decoration. The first time, the cake was missing beads in the decorative design, and the second time, the head of a person on the cake was poorly done. What’s even more frustrating is that when we brought this to their attention, the staff was unprofessional and blamed us for their mistakes.It’s clear that the quality of their cakes and the professionalism of their service have declined in the last 2-3 years since the business was passed down to the next generation. It’s a shame to see a once-reliable cake shop go downhill like this. I won’t be ordering from Continatal Cake Shop again, and I would caution others to think twice before doing so as well.

Update : expected vs received for 1st cake. The strings decorations accoss the face missing apart from other noticeable differences. Also that number 1 is added by us along with other top up on top of cake.
2 months agoI went in and asked for a special request for my sister’s 17th birthday cake. I emailed them with the writing I wanted and the cake type. They did an absolutely fantastic job!!!! With only little time they had. I highly recommend this place!5 months agoVery bad experience with the customer service, I ordered cake for my baby’s second birthday and set a pick up time at 3 pm and already paid some advance amount. When my brother went there for the pickup they don’t know the order and they said they will deliver around 5 pm to my location. They delivered the cake around 5:30 pm and we were waiting for the cake. They delivered but the difference design as I ordered. Really feeling very disappointed. Ordered first one received second one.4 months agoBest customised cakes in Canberra. Everyone loved the cake. Cake is melting in the mouth and so yummy. Thanks for making customised cake and making my son birthday memorable. I’ll definitely suggest my friends.

Nice variety of cakes. The big crumble cake and the almond tart were tasty. We preferred the big cakes to the small ones.
Unfortunately no bread.

Bought two overpriced pastries. An apricot and Pear Danish. The pastry was soggy with zero crunch. The poached apricot was super sweet. The girl serving has zero enthusiasm and didn’t look like she wanted to be there. She cramped two pastries in one bag. Had to ask her to seperate it. The coffee was watery and super strong. (worse than maccas). I used to be a loyal customer. Never again.
La Sablé Pâtisserié has become our go-to spot for Saturday morning coffee, and for good reason! The rich, aromatic coffee is consistently delightful, making it the perfect start to our weekends.
What truly sets La Sablé apart is their warm and welcoming staff. Every visit feels like catching up with old friends. Their genuine friendliness creates an inviting atmosphere that keeps us coming back.

Purchased a delicious apple and cinnamon scroll and almond based cappuccino.
Both the interior and exterior are looking tired, however, it’s a great “hidden gem”. The coffee was standard, not bitter, pretty good. I had a butter chicken pie. The pastry was truly amazing with a mild sour cream or cream cheese tang. Not too soggy and not too dry. The filling also had a great flavour. Hits the spot.
