Sister Elizabeth Kenny (20 September 1880 – 30 November 1952) was a self-trained Australian bush nurse who developed an approach to treating polio that was controversial at the time. Her method, promoted internationally while working in Australia, Europe and the United States, differed from the conventional one of placing affected limbs in plaster casts. Instead she applied hot compresses, followed by passive movement of the areas to reduce what she called "spasm". Her principles of muscle rehabilitation became the foundation of physical therapy or physiotherapy in such cases. Her life story was told in a 1946 film, Sister Kenny, where she was portrayed by Rosalind Russell, who was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance.

There is a toddler playground that is fully surrounded by a fence. The playground has a few swings, climbing things, a slide (made of metal for some reason), sand, picnic tables, BBQs, and some shade.

Next to the toddler playground is a playground for older kids. Fun climbing ropes, a rope hammock, and slide (made of metal for some reason). Shaded by a large tree. Lots of mozzies.

There are other picnic tables, BBQs and footpaths. Pretty. Access paths to the beach.

    There are also public toilets.

Great spot to come for a walk, run, cycle, scooter or get on the lovely sandy beach. There is picnic areas, playground, toilets, seating, exercise equipment and if your lucky the coffee van might be there (weekends mainly.

Lovely park, BBQs and cool local sculptures. Toilets, family safe, next to beach. Watch out for cyclists through traffic on the shared walkway.

  1. The lack of cleanliness and pride in their business is what lets this place down.

We attended on a Thursday and the play area was full of torn up party hats and wrapping paper which I’m going to assume had been there since the weekend when they host birthday parties.
It’s quite clear they do not do walk throughs prior to opening to make sure the area is clean, I have often seen bandaids in the play area which is repulsive.
The walls in the bathroom are filthy and have clearly not been cleaned in a very long time.
I refuse to buy food at this establishment because if the above things cannot be kept clean do they even bother to clean the coffee machine or replace the oils in their fryers?

I look forward to the second indoor playground opening next year as I hope it motivates these guys to take more pride in their own business and keep it cleaner to hold their customer base.

  2. Im sitting here now Friday December the 15th im watching the children thoroughly enjoying themselves its the school holidays and its so busy, i love my ham and cheese melts but on a day so very busy the line up for food was crazy so my only criticism is she really need more staff on for days like these but apart from that i recommend the place to keep your munchkins entertained Wendy.

  3. A paradise for children and some parents understandably take advantage of this in order to have some peace and quiet. The age information in the respective areas is therefore not adhered to and no staff checks it. Of course it is very loud, you have to be aware of that. Personally, I love the sock requirement. Overall it was safe and clean and there is a great selection of snacks and drinks.

  4. It is a great concept. Shame that there is very little supervision by parents and even more so by staff who are not reinforcing the age conditions for different play areas. It is just not safe nor fair on the little ones. Hygiene is very poor, and it sure is an adventure to go and use the bathrooms even when it is first up in the morning.
