In need of some love. Staff not overly friendly. Still worth a visit to see a taste of yesteryear with the dolls and reminders of nursery rhymes ?

Such a fun place to visit, had a blast running around the castle and looking at everything they had there.

We expected more from the medieval castle, It was a shame that most of the medieval exhibits were closed due to disrepair. The toy shop & doll display were open for viewing, that’s the castles main focus currently. Sadly we weren’t here long at all. I do hope it’s restored to its former glory. I’d love to check it out fully one day… fingers crossed ?

We have been here over the last 19 years. We used to go into the Castle to explore the dolls and rooftop. We did the self-guided tour with the kids and still enjoyed it. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

  1. A fantastic collection of over 80 military and civilian aircraft.

Knowledgeable and passionate volunteers run this place and do a great job.

An enthusiast could spend hours here but this museum would be enjoyed by a wide range of people. We spent 3 hours and loved it.

    Highly recommended ??

  2. Awesome collection of aviation history, including a recently retired F111! As an aviation geek, I loved it, but my family also really enjoyed it. The Mig-15 was a cool surprise to see as well.

Great work by the volunteers who help to maintain the collection.

  3. Very important part of our aviation history. We visited with our car club and were treated to a guided tour. I was saddened to learn that these guy’s are all volunteers and get no state or federal government funding or support. The efforts that go into the displays are amazing. Highly recommend a visit to museum.

  4. This is well worth a visit. I spent a good three hours here. the collection of commercial and military aircraft is excellent. Every piece of equipment has a story and history attached to it. The volunteers who run the guided tours are in the main Pilots or have served in the aviation history. The day my wife and I visited we had the pleasure of a personal guided tour by a retired Qantas Captain who flew 747s for 35 years or so and the last six years A380s. His knowledge was priceless. The entry fees are very affordable, if anything inexpensive for the detailed experience. We are retired couple and our entry fee was $18 each, not much more if you are not. Attached is a small sample of what is available to see.

  5. This is a great museum with lots of experiences such as the Boeing 737-800 simulator, (to experience this you must be over the age of 14). And an experience on Microsoft Flight Simulator, (you must be over the age of 13 to experience this).
When you first come in, on top of the entrance inside, the will be the Qantas logo evolution, near the counter, there is plane models, aviator glasses and more.
Inside, you also have a F 1-11 parked inside, and above you, there will be small turboprops, also inside there are plane models on display.
Once you go outside, there will be a speaker which is playing Live Air Traffic Control from Brisbane Airport, (I don’t know which comms).
Then you have many planes like an old Swearingen Metroliner, and the hangar is the biggest part of the museum, including an old Australian DC3.
