4 months agoGorgeous park with plenty of space for dogs to run. I found a rock painted with maybe a cat and the name “Meg” on it the day I came here. I thought it was quite special, so I picked it up and brought it back to America with me. If anyone knows Meg, please let them know their rock is happily resting in Scottsdale Arizona and I’d happily send something from here as a special gift exchange.2 weeks agoLoved it. So many dogs and their people. I loved how the dogs were off their leads, but just doing their own thing. No fighting or incidents. Lots of trails to wander a long and river for the dogs to swim ina week agoAccording to council regulations you can freedom camp in the car park for up to two nights. Excellent quiet place to park up especially when you don’t want your kiddos running to the ocean. Nice walking trails for a morning walk.a month agoLove this park gor walking our dogs. It has everything – bush and trees, many options of tracks, a river for swimming, plenty of shade and parking, toilets and most of all if very popular with all. Highly recommended to all dog owners, bush walkers and general outdoors enthusiasts.7 months agoPakowhai dog park is not just my mutts paradise but I love it as well, we get away from the Hussle and bussle of town life and get with a bit of nature….great for the mind and body. We always enjoy our visits?

Always different lights and views to take stunning pictures from the top. Multiple tracks to go around the peak are well indicated and maintained by the trust. It’s always lovely to enjoy a walk out there , listening to the tui and other birds songs, great place to reconnect with nature and reconnect with yourself.
Spectacular views. You can park your car at the visitor’s centre and walk or bike up the track. Or drive very carefully to the top. You can see the whole of Hawkes bay on a good day. Absolute must for every visitor!
Very nice views, be careful going up and down, show heaps of courtesy, fantastic views, and clean area, please keep it like that.
Must visit location. Incredible 360 degree views of the Hawkes Bay! Great walk from the Te Mata Road end car park or you can drive all the way to the top.
Excellent scenery and beautiful view. No waiting. Parking available. Trails available.
