2 months agoThis is well maintained tracking place. Park was full of tress with plants. After while of tracking you get to experience waterfall with nice view…. It was nice atmosphere. The park entry is free with free car parking available. Place is very close from Whangarei city….3 weeks agoFabulous, fun track. It’s such a cool thing to be able to walk among the kauri. The waterfall was pretty cool too. Needs a few picnic tables5 months agoBeautifully kept pocket of kauri forest so close to the city. Lovely Canopy walk to view some ancient kauri. Paths are well kept and boardwalk suitable for strollers and wheelchairs (note on map for seperate entry for disability access). Well worth a stop.5 months agoAn amazing experience all around, between walking the track to the waterfall and exploring the treetops along the raised walking platforms. I walked along the river, through the water, in order to reach the bottom of one of the waterfalls, an experience that I highly recommend, as it was due to this that I managed to take the pictures you see below.2 months agoSuper nice place to visit. Has multiple tracks to walk through in Kauri trees. Amazing experience in park like Kauri forest area. Actually its little Kauri forest walk.

I went up to check m out mountain biking tracks mainly, the entrance is on the right of the first car park, notice board posted as photo in this review. The side of the hill has just been logged so I’m not sure if any of all of the tracks are affected – I’d like to find this out before returning.
Strolled up to the lookout, worthwhile yo have checked out the look out and they have a panoramic map-board if the surrounding area – really extensive and cool views giving a neat overview of this region – highly recommend (photos also posted).
Mair Park is one of those beautiful hidden treasures that once you find you always enjoy returning. From the vast native forests with towering trees and ferns, to the grassy flat picnic spots along the waters edge. A real gem in Whangarei.
Great family area, play ground for the kids and a public toilet. Lots of bush tracks where you can walk along the river or up to the top of Mt Parahaki. Feed the ducks or just lay on the grass and enjoy the sunshine
Always love to walk around Mair park. Kids enjoy muddy puddles and can go walk into the bush to explore.
Duck and pegeons are so friendly.
I love Mair Park. Great place to go for a run, walk or have a picnic next to the river. Really lovely to visit at high tide.
If you’re feeling adventurous and energetic take a walk up the tracks leading to the top of Parihaka. There’s a gorgeous view from the top.
Lovely little playground for kids and the ducks are always fun.
