a week agoI’ve never set foot in a better cinema anywhere. It has bars, comedy nights and live music as well as films. It’s also beautifully restored in an art Deco style. You can just go for a drink and sit on the balcony if you wish. Superlative and good value!in the last weekI’ve been trying to go the Ritz for since precovid times. Finally I went tonight to see Poor Things 35mm version. The popcorn was good, staff really friendlly, The building itself is a gem and loved the trendy decor. No one checks your ticket, so that makes things easier. BUT when the movie was close to the end the screen turned pitch black and for 5 minutes there was no movie, a guy behind me went to ask for help to put the movie back, which they did, someone did come to check on one from the aisles, when we left the cinema not even 1 employee said at least: “sorry”. I will come back to soon and hope to give a 5 star review.6 months agoFirst time at this venue to watch Oppenheimer. One of the few places in Sydney which still show film in 70mm. I really enjoyed the vibe of this place. Cinema 1 has two tiered seating, chairs don’t recline so not as comfortable.Parking can be difficult but the Wilson’s does cheaper parking if seeing a film. Couple of restaurants in the area also do film ticket meal deals so look around.
5 months agoAs someone who missed the “golden age” of cinemas, the place is an absolute gem. I had the privilege of watching Midnight Cowboy here and the reel they played included old advertisements and even a section on the moon landing. It was an experience I never knew I needed. This place is timeless3 weeks agoOne of the best and cheapest cinemas in Sydney. I saw so many movies here. With a 35mm and 70mm film projector is definitely worth to watch even an old movie, making the experience so much better. Lovely staff and the terrace bar is great too. Highly recommended.

We’ve been here two times during our 3 weeks in Sydney.
Buying the tickets, choosing time… all easily done on the touch-screen-kiosk.
Buying popcorn and coke (and all you don’t want to eat) in a small self-service area without having to wait. Great experience.
If you want to have something more substantial, there is a Sushi-shop, a small Thai-Grill, Bubbletea shop, Hungry Jacks, … in the front area.
First film was great, with new seats, clean polster, well maintained anywhere in the upper area. Great sound, gigantic screen… would be a 5 – Star experience. But:
Second time we’ve been in Cinema 10 on the ground level… well…in other cinemas this would not be operated anymore! It was dirty, small, musky smell, the sound from the next cinema came over to our room… not so great when you watch a horror-movie (Insidious – the red door) and suddenly somebody starts shooting and you ask yourself why… Oh! It’s next door…
Finally: The MOST DIRTY and smelly restrooms I’ve seen in my life! I held my breath and touched nothing I did not have to…next time better go at the station… or under a bridge… its cleaner.
All in all I’ll give 3 Stars and hope they get better or just close the old scrap down if they can’t afford to renovate.
While I’m sure based on the way in that some of the screens here are abysmal I had a great experience as I knew from others what to go for.
Vmax screen 2
Recliner seats were comfortable. Sound good. Picture perfect.
Looking back though, I actually had zero interaction with staff. Bought tickets at the self service, nobody checked my tickets on the way in
Gold screen looked good with a bar, might try that next time. Wouldn’t hesitate to come here again.
We came here to see a movie at ‘The Library’ on boxing day. The theatre looks beautiful and has many movie options. The bathrooms were disgusting though, not sure if that was a boxing day issue, or a regular every day one. The bartenders were kind and fast to help, the lady that brought the orders for the 1st half of the movie can do with some ‘soft skills’.
Overall a good experience.
A big complex with a combination of standard, large and exclusive high-end cinemas. I went to the Paparazzi theatre which had fabulous reclining seats and foot rests. Food and beverages are available to have delivered. They are very expensive and on top of the $46 ticket thought this was excessive. The expensive cinemas also limit the adds prior to the movie to 10 minutes. Usually they can be 30-40 minutes or even more. A good experience though pricy.
Event Cinemas Gold Class surpassed expectations with its luxurious ambiance, attentive staff, and comfortable seating. The top-notch food and beverage options, coupled with seamless in-seat service, created a premium cinematic experience. Looking forward to returning for another exceptional visit.
