a month agoWent to book two tickets online but when it showed the price as $50 for two I decided against it. How many others do that I wonder. Too damn expensive for me. Much better to fill the cinema at half that price than run a movie for a few. I’ll wait till I get home to my Reading cinema thanks ! That would be no star rating if I could remove it.2 months agoWhat a horrible poky run down little cinema we got stuck in. The seats were damaged and so uncomfortable. It was grubby and old. Definitely seen better days (like 30 years ago!) a complete waste of time and money! I can’t believe they still take people’s money for a run down cinema. Always great experience! Staff are helpful and friendly. Make sure to check discounts if you’re a member of RACQ or Event Cinemas. Most of the time they would offer 50% off depending on days. It’s a big savings especially for a family of four like us. We love the VMax comfortable recliner is the best while watching.
The photos show the condition of the daybeds at the front of VMAX. I discovered this while collecting my key which had unfortunately fallen in the crevice. The dude working there, literally had a vacuum cleaner but told me that night staff will clean it up. So the people watching a movie after us would be sitting on the same rubbish too and so on. There was KFC and chicken nuggets mixed with a heap of popcorn that were at least a few days old. If I am paying premium price for tickets, at the very least, I do not expect to sit on half eaten rotten nuggets…
The cinema it self is great, especially the VMAX, seats are comfortable, sound is amazing however feel like the cinema should look at having a staff member sit in or at least pop their head in throughout a movie. Went to watch a film last night and a group of about 8 teens wouldn’t shut up the entire film and were waving their phone torches around mid way through the film, to say it was frustrating was an understatement people pay to watch a movie not hear people talk through the entire movie, I was on the opposite side of the theatre and I could still hear them clearly. Will probably have to go back to watch the film again because of their distractions.
Clean, welcoming staff, fast collection of tickets and food that is booked and ordered online. Only downfall really is cost of items as well as the size if popcorn and drinks. The small drinks are larger than those at fast food establishments. Personally, the small sizes are way to big to be given to children. Ideally for the health benefits of children, a junior size so they are consuming less salt from the popcorn and a smaller serve of sugar that energetic children don’t need drinking while stuck sitting in one spot for over and hour. It’s better for them ( and the parents) and they aren’t missing out on the treats and getting the full experience of the cinema.
We went and saw The Beekeeper in VMax in the recliner chairs. It was a great experience. I wish our local had the same.
