a week agoWe spent a lovely morning roaming around the ‘town’ and met a few of the ‘locals’. It was a real step back in time with many facets of the local history. The people were very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Loved it!2 months agoFantastic place to stop for some lunch and a wander around the various buildings filled with Australian history. The staff there are very friendly and helpful and go out of their way to look after you. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. It seems you can also camp there by the river for free, but we were just passing through.6 months agoOur first visit to this wonderful little village of Calliope we originally just pulled over for a comfort stop. We suddenly realised that the volunteers made scones with jam and cream and lovely coffee ☕ for a very reasonable price. Also the historical village was full of School children learning about the past a wonderful place to stop and they have a free camp site overnight out tge back on the river.5 months agoA lovely place to wander around. Coffee and scones are beautiful. Plenty of parking. A very interesting and informative place with good friendly staff who are only too happy to help.6 months agoVery interesting definitely worth a visit. And the lady’s at the kiosk are just the best. The views and walks are amazing. Plenty of nice picnic spots, seating areas and places for the children to run around and play.
Lovely addition to Gladstone.
Park for all ages, nice walking tracks plus lots of areas for children to ran around. Fun water features anyone can cool down walking through them.
We had a lovely lunch at the cafe (Auckland House).
Recommend a visit.
This is a fun afternoon play when you are short on time to go to the beach. Plenty of toilets a nice spread out plaground with fun water play. There is also plenty of seats in the shade and in the sun, a good place for birthdays
Had last visited Gladstone in 2000 and arrived here in early 2024 to find this excellent waterpark and expansive landscaped waterfront parkland. We couldn’t access the lookout as it was under redevelopment but when finished it too is sure to be magnificent. Several restaurants in the precinct make this a must visit place in Gladstone.
This place is an absolute amazing well designed playground. park, dog walking, space for the community of Gladstone. I wish the Gold Coast did something similar. It was such a lovely experience.
