5 Replies to Best Target Superstore Reviews: San Diego CA’s Top Spots

  1. Thanks to this Target’s great location, I was able to walk here with my family from our hotel while we waited for our rental car. It is huge! I’ve never seen one with two stories. Throughout the week I was able to experience shopping in nearly every department, including visiting the Starbucks inside and customer service to return a board game. All the cashiers were very kind and helpful. We also fell in love with the Taco Bean Dip they offer and ultimately bought all they had!

  2. This target is located right of the I8 which can be annoying to get to as the exit traffic is almost always obnoxious.
That being said, I prefer to drive out to this location over my much closer one due to having more options, particularly from their own Good & Gather brand.
They have an upstairs section mainly for home decor as well as menswear and provide a separate escalator for your shopping cart. Food, women’s wear, pet needs and beauty & health are located on the first floor along with a Starbucks and self service food court.
Prices are reasonable, with discounts for red card target rewards members. Self checkout is available but only open on the west side of the store despite having them on the east side as well. I came here the day after Christmas and it was little hectic although the exchange and return line was ridiculously long. It is very easy to get lost in this store so make sure to have a plan or you’ll end up spending way more than you intended!
There is a ton of parking here on all sides of the store but it can be tricky to navigate. I recommend parking on the south side of the store next to the freeway.

  3. This is one of the only few Targets that still has popcorn ?. It’s not made at the counter anymore but packaged in a box. This Target is two floors and also has Ulta Beauty and groceries. Located inside Mission Valley Center.

  4. Wow. This store is garbage now. I haven’t been here in a while (months) and they now have all the men’s socks and t-shirts locked up. I waited for 20 minutes. I watched 7 other people use these new sensor they have installed to request assistive and all of them, including me left without any help or ability to buy the items we wanted. Also, the selection was bad. They had NO small Haines t-shirts in any style, even though they carry 4 different styles. I decided I wasn’t going to spend a penny in this store. They wasted 1 hour of my day. They don’t deserve my money. I wasted 10 mins finding parking, walking up an escalator that was out of service, waiting 20 minutes for a team member that never came. Then I was going to buy a gift card and after I found the one I wanted, I went to get it line and there were 10-12 people in the few lanes that were open. I walked back to the gift card rack and put it back and walked out. I won’t go back here anytime soon. I’ll find anywhere else to get what I need and I’ll pay more because I needed both items for a birthday gift. I can’t believe how much this store went downhill. Lastly, not one person that worked there, out of the very few I even saw, said hello or acknowledged my presence in the store. Nothing will change and trying to talk to a manager isn’t worth it to me. The only message they will hear is the one that speaks with dollars. I think they will get this message sooner rather than later. But we will see. Target lost my business for the rest of 2024. Don’t waste your time coming to this store. Go anywhere else but here. Shameful.

  5. Parking lot designed for cars no bigger than a mini cooper means ding ding ding every time you park here. Rampant thievery means everything down to deodorant is locked behind cases that you have to call and wait for someone to open. Waiting in the only checkout line open with a massive line. I almost always try to avoid this target, but when I do have to make a stop at it, there’s something new added to the list of why I never want to come to this one. Corporate should pay attention because it’s leaving a bad taste in people’s mouths for all of Target
