My husband Michael is a pensioner NFP have his details. He was charged as a working person and when he said he was a pensioner the receptionist said she could not refund the excess money he paid. If the receptionist was doing the job properly this person would ask are you a pensioner ? Do you have a health care card ? Instead of which the receptionist is making out it’s the customers problem ? We don’t know how your systems work .There are some great doctors at this clinic and we are wondering what has happened to the staff who are older and have better customer service ?

Terrible, called up for a phone consult with my doctor who happens to be on leave, when asked if another doctor can provide a repeat prescription or have a phone consult with me, I was told no we have no appointments go to GP access. The receptionist did not want to help and closed the call while I was still talking. Unacceptable.

I live nearby and a newish resident. I needed a walk in one afternoon to see a GP as I was feeling dreadful with a persistant cold for 10 days that had suddenly come out in a bad rash all over my torso. So first time feeling unwell in Newcastle , try it out. From the first instance service was abismal. Told it is a 3 week wait for an ‘appoinment’ no walk in available ever couldnt advise alternative apart from John Hunter ER. 10-12 hr wait time. Zero interest in my condition or anything vaguely associated with why I was there or my well being. Awful attitude. It would be quicker for me to drive to Sydney and see my Local GP. Not only that, I new exactly what I needed as in a nasopharyngeal swab for respiratory multiplex PCR. But then, that might just have been to complicated for this joke of a medical centre were rules seem to overide care.

Rude and aggressive receptionist who seemed to be looking for a reason why my wife couldn’t see a doctor. Apparently her online booking was no longer available, then they couldn’t find her records, her doctor no longer worked there, then she hadn’t been to the practice recently enough, then the practice isn’t taking new patients as of this morning. It’s hard to imagine a worse experience when a person has a medical issue and is in need of care.

Absolutely fantastic doctors at this clinic. I’ve seen a few for myself and our daughter and they’re always very thorough and friendly.

The most unprofessional group of people I have ever dealt with. I make a booking by phone it gets cut off, I make a booking via there online booking. Only to get a phone call 1 hour 15 minutes later saying that they can’t process that booking as I was advised to attend the hospital. I stated that was in correct and I was cut off before giving any details of symptoms across. The Female operator started abusing me saying I was not listening to her. I asked why it took 1 hr & 15 minutes to let me know. Why did the male caller that I spoke to first not ring me back to check if I was ok. She repeated “that not my fault, thank you. “ then hung up on me. What a unprofessional group of people. It’s lucky I was not dying.

  1. I am not someone that leaves reviews, but I am so glad I chose to go to Heal urgent care yesterday. Everyone I came in contact with from Elaine at Concierge to the lovely Nurses Katie and Michaela to the beautiful doctor Katie , were welcoming, friendly ,professional and reassuring.
My husband on the other hand was enamoured with the waiting room, the sparkling water and the huge TV.
I understand not everyone can afford the fee and I am not slamming the hard-working doctors and nurses at our hospitals.
It was worth every penny to see someone quickly and to be sent home reassured.
The after care is also amazing.

    THANKS to everyone at Heal.

  2. Ease of obtaining an appointment was exceptional! Seen before scheduled appointment time and out within an hour. Facilities clean, and modern. The waiting room felt more like a 5 star hotel lobby! Exceptional care provided by all staff. Medical team were attentive, empathetic and thorough. This will be our first choice for any urgent medical care in the future. Thank you Heal Specialist Urgent Care.

  3. Attended Heal’s Newcastle Surgery with severe lower back pain. Was seen promptly by the lovely receptionist and booked-in. My wife and I were then taken through into an inviting and comfortable waiting area, and offered a cup of tea. After a short wait I was seen by a nurse and assessed. Was given an injection and pain relief medication, as well as a script to take away. A doctor’s discharge report was sent through promptly the following day via email. Overall a very good experience and one that I would revert to again if I needed urgent treatment. In contrast I was referred by my doctor this AM to attend the ED at John Hunter Hospital… and I sat in a waiting room for almost 4 hours; before spending a further 3 hours being treated.

  4. Outstanding emergency care today. We presented with a significant leg wound from a power tool and within a few minutes my husband was being assessed and treated. Yes, it’s private and there’s a large fee, but we can’t rate it high enough. Wound cleaned, stitches inserted and home within an hour. Outstanding!

  5. We were very impressed from the moment we arrived. Wonderful facilities, fabulous staff who were all smiling and creating a positive experience. We enjoyed not having to wait for too long, and received excellent care and customer service. Will definitely be back!
