How to Shop Like a Local at Aldi in Pakenham

Shopping at Aldi in Australia can be a great way to save money on groceries and household items. However, it may be a bit different from shopping at other supermarkets. Here are some tips and tricks to make your Aldi shopping experience a success:

  • Bring a quarter: In Australia, as in other countries where Aldi operates, you will need a quarter coin or a 2-dollar coin to unlock a shopping cart. Don’t worry though, you’ll get your coin back when you return the cart.
  • Bring your own bags: Aldi does not provide free bags; you can either bring your own reusable bags or purchase them at the store. It’s a good idea to keep some bags in your car or carry a foldable one in your bag in case you make an impromptu visit to Aldi.
  • Use the middle aisle wisely: Aldi is known for its middle aisle, which offers a rotating selection of special buys. Take some time to browse through this aisle as you might find great deals on anything from clothing to kitchen gadgets.
  • Check the labels: Aldi offers a variety of products, including many of its own private labels. Be sure to check the labels and compare with other brands if necessary. You may find that Aldi’s private label products are just as good, if not better, than other well-known brands.
  • Plan your trip: Aldi stores in Australia often have limited opening hours, so it’s a good idea to plan your trip in advance. Check the opening hours of your local Aldi and try to go at a less busy time to avoid long queues.
  • Have a shopping list: It’s easy to get carried away when shopping at Aldi due to the low prices and tempting products. To avoid unnecessary purchases, make a shopping list beforehand and stick to it as much as possible.

  1. This place customer service was so rude .Specially on register females staff always behaving rude with customers and showing their ego. Even they never said Thanks to customers after billing.Rarely they smile when customers come on register for billing. Some females staff don’t know about Aldi products and they asked to customers “ what is that “”. Aldi need to trained them how to treat customers with manners and smile

  2. Warranty process – beware.

You may be on a long journey if something goes wrong.

After months of ignoring and avoiding a legitimate claim for a product fault, ALDI settled on saying I was abusive to their supplier as an excuse to not fix the problem.

My product came with a missing part, and the first response was to ignore me. The product was large and assembled, and impossible to return to the store easily.

After a second complaint the response was to call me, commit to following up, then ignore me.

After the third complaint, the response was to tell me to just buy the missing part from another supplier.

In parallel I contacted the manufacturer who was very helpful, but the solution took me beyond the ALDI 90 day return policy.

After again raising the concern with ALDI they claimed “…they have also been advised throughout this process that you have been abusive towards them, which is something the supplier will not tolerate.” The manufacturer had no idea what ALDI was talking about and had no problem with me.

Because of my alleged abuse of the supplier ALDI walked away with “Therefore, this matter is now closed and there will be no further contact from ALDI in relation to this matter.”

Throughout the process, ALDI never actually denied the part was missing for that product, and produced no evidence I was anything but polite despite their lack of care. An absolute zero for customer service.

  3. Online abandoned trolley pick up service is a joke. I began requesting collection from our street last Wednesday; still not collected as at today. Of Aldi does not divulge its telephone numbers, so there is nobody to ring. This store is a point of reference to the closest Aldi to the trolley. This review is not related directly to the store, its staff or services.
