This place will bring your ordinary day to become extraordinary. Recommend for dog walking, surfing and any outdoor activity.

Parking lots available or you can catch the buses to Custom House and walk down to the beach. Tram from Newcastle Beach is also another option for public transport.

Great beach, especially for families. The only thing we didn’t like (seems we did a beach visit before travelling 4 hours home) was that there were no changerooms with showers to properly wash off.

Always an incredible beach to visit. The surf, life savers and cafe just makes a great day at the beach. Even has volleyball nets if you are that way inclined.

  1. Had a great day out at the Newcastle Baths. Kids enjoyed the varying depths and mucking around on the floating walkway. The views back towards Nobbies and down the coast make it worth sitting for a moment and taking the time to enjoy after your swim.

  2. The place is perfect for kids. Good view and nice pool. It was a bit crowded though maybe because we came during the holidays. Parking was a bit challenging. Overall experience is still very good.

  3. The new baths are better than expected! I was very nervous when they were renovating that it would lose its retro charm but thankfully it has not.

So glad it’s finally open and I can do my morning laps a little closer to work, and so I can laze about in the afternoon with friends.

  4. The baths are so nice now that the pool renovations have been completed. It’s a perfect spot to swim or lie in the sun!

I come down here to swim laps quite often, but the lap pool is in desperate need of some lane ropes. The sandy pool bottom means there are no markings on the bottom, and it’s impossible to stay in your lane without looking up. This makes for a lot of crashes during busy times, when there may be two or three people in a lane. Hopefully they put some in soon!

  5. Beautiful for some laps in the smaller pool or floating about in the bigger pool. Such a nice renovation. 9am is for the lifeguard I believe but it’s open much earlier (5:30 opening for change rooms according to the council website)
