Ordered trampoline mat, heard nothing for 2 weeks, when enquire said it was on way from Dunedin. When it didn’t show 2 days later I was told it had been returned to Dunedin and was coming from Hamilton, finally got it 3 weeks after ordering.

Ordered a gazebo 2 weeks ago, again order still pending and staff not sure what is going on.

Hopefully they get their issues sorted or there are going to be lots of disappointed people at Christmas.

If its not in store do not order it online, it wont turn up quickly.

I went into this store again today 3rd time. Got zero service trying to find stuff again. Staff tend to hang around the counter not proactive in helping customers yet store was quiet again. I was trying to find something upstairs for ages, no one came to see if they could help so I went back down to ask guy at counter where item was, he pointed to where it was upstairs. So I went back up. Still nothing. Came back down. I had to encourage him to check their stock if they had any. Never again at this T7 store. Taking my $ elsewhere.

Truely the worst shopping experience ever. Their website is constantly trying to get you to sign up for mailing lists (to be fair, this is pretty normal these days) and even when you select the option “No thanks” when finalizing your order, it still sends you deals and promotion emails. Eventually when I did place an order of some cycling shorts that were in stock at the time, I waited four weeks and received no updates about my order (the order confirmation). During this period I also emailed them twice and got zero response (aside from the automated “we’ve gotten your email”) and when I called them eventually (after going through a bloody phone tree) I was told my item was out of stock and that there’d been a fault is their system. This is an appalling way to treat paying (yes, the money had indeed come out of my account) customers. I Will not be using Torpedo7 again. And will discourage others from doing the same.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I don’t know why I keep coming back, staff are unhelpful, disinterested and seem to lack any knowledge about outdoor gear. A painful experience every time I enter the store.

In October last year I purchased a torpedo7 Apex tilting towball mount 4 Bike Rack from Lisa in the Nelson Store. Was advised it was suitable for my wife and my bicycles. No mention was made that an attachment would be needed. However after several weeks passed I attempted fitting the rack and the bicycles only to find that my wife”s cycle was not suited to the rack. I have since made enquiries and find that this is common and that I need to buy a YAKIMA TOP TUBE RACK from Torpedo 7 to overcome this problem. Enquiries at Wellington and nelson branches for this attachment reveal that there are apparently no such attachments available in the country. I spoke with a staff member in Nelson by phone and asked him why they are selling equipment that is useless without this attachment and he replied “i cant do anything about that and that they may be available later in the year”. I told him that this was very poor service and he hung up the phone. Beware.

  1. We just finished the Great Taste Trail and that was an awesome experience. We chose to do the trail carrying our own food and gear (tent, sleeping bags). Bernie told us so many tips along the road, which was very kind. At the end, Chris advised us lots of places to go to carry on our holidays ?
5 stars to the Gentle Cycling company for their warm welcome. Moreover, bicycles are good ??

  2. An amazing and hassle-free experience from start to finish.
Our group of five varied in age from 2 to 70 years old. Before our ride Bernie advised the parts of the great taste trail that could best suit our group which was a huge help as we didn’t want to do the full 60kms and weren’t familiar with the trail.
On the day of our ride the weather started off a bit rough so Chris tailored our day even further to account for the bad weather and having met the group and assessing our abilities. He drove us further up the trail to skip the more hilly and exposed parts. We stopped at the Jester House Cafe, where Chris was kind enough to have booked us a table ahead of time.
Our family had a wonderful day, enjoyed Chris’s company and made lifelong memories! Thanks so much for an amazing experience! We highly recommend The Gentle Cycling Company!

  3. We decided to rent a bike at 10am in the morning and an hour later we were already on bikes exploring the Nelson region. Chris is a very friendly and proud owner of thi family company. The bikes were in great shape, we got helmets and locks for Free and even a gel foam Seat if you like. Chris also recommended some family friendly routes.
In all a great day out for me and my 3 children are 6,8 And 11.

  4. Great fun. Track is pretty easy, some slightly tougher off road bits. We didn’t get eBikes but assume it would have been a breeze if we did.
Seifried was lovely, we ate there as well.
We had a quick dip at the beach at Rabbit Island. Beautiful warm water.
On our day (busy, summer, great weather) the ferry to Mapua went more often than once an hour. Mapua is so nice.
Pick up at 4.30 from Chris was bang on time and we were dropped back at our hotel.
One of my favourite things I did on the whole trip to NZ.

  5. Family of 8 and we had the best time! Chris gave us amazing tour map and we had such a great day, we rented the E-Bikes which were definitely worth it and enjoyed the beautiful vineyards. There was something for everyone and was so easy to communicate with Chris pick up and drop off points. We will definitely be back for another tour next time we are in Nelson! Loved it!
