A playground, playpark, or play area is a place designed to provide an environment for children that facilitates play, typically outdoors. While a playground is usually designed for children, some are designed for other age groups, or people with disabilities. A playground might exclude children below (or above) a certain age.
Modern playgrounds often have recreational equipment such as the seesaw, merry-go-round, swingset, slide, jungle gym, chin-up bars, sandbox, spring rider, trapeze rings, playhouses, and mazes, many of which help children develop physical coordination, strength, and flexibility, as well as providing recreation and enjoyment and supporting social and emotional development. Common in modern playgrounds are play structures that link many different pieces of equipment.
Playgrounds often also have facilities for playing informal games of adult sports, such as a baseball diamond, a skating arena, a basketball court, or a tether ball.
Public playground equipment installed in the play areas of parks, schools, childcare facilities, institutions, multiple family dwellings, restaurants, resorts, and recreational developments, and other areas of public use.
A type of playground called a playscape is designed to provide a safe environment for play in a natural setting.

It is an one of the best parks for kids in Paramatta area with well maintained equipments. Most of the facilities are available here, walking and cycling tracks, enough shades with seats, BBQ tables and plenty of parking slots.

Great playground. So much to explore and do. Flying fox, giant swing, slides, sand, water, climbing nets, nature play. There is so much to do here. See parksandadventuresofsydney on Instagram for more.

Nice and big, quite a lot of fun facilities. Swings, zip line, climbing nets, slides and sand pits with water. Water fountains and a clean toilet. Great place for families with kids to visit to spend a day at the park. There’s plenty of good spots for picnic and barbecue too. Many animals around too! There’s birds, ducks and lizards.

Nice family outing. Parking available on West Domain Ave but it may fill up quickly on weekends. It says 2P parking on weekdays but we usually go on weekends. Additional ticket parking available on Park Ave ($3/hr, $13/day on weekdays).

People are mentioning shade. The trees are all along the perimeter road (West Domain Ave), so if you arrive early enough, you should be able to find shade but bring your own folding chairs and tables. There are 4 shelters but those fill up quickly early in the morning. Children playground and public toilet available.

Timeout says this is one of the best playgrounds in Sydney. They’re wrong. The play equipment is nothing special and there isn’t enough of it to cater for the amount of kids out here. Plus, it’s all made of metal with no shade cover so in Summer the equipment is hazardously hot. Very disappointed.

  1. A playground suitable for all ages. There’s water and sensory play. Slides for toddlers, bigger kids and zip lines. It’s accessible by public transport or by car you can park for $20 all day. Lots of eateries near by and of course the infamous Harry cafe de wheels! My favourite place to eat delicious pies and hot dogs! On weekends, the park draws in children and it can be extremely busy. There’s enough space for everyone to move around and take turns on the play equipment. The only let down is that being a very busy public space, there should be signs of contact numbers to call or rangers nearby to provide assistance to any injured children.

  2. The atmosphere is so nice, beautiful lights at night. It’s great for taking photos.
We had dessert, shaved ice with mango and strawberries. It was very delicious! Would definitely go again.

  3. DQ has plenty of great restaurants and spaces to sit and relax. Such a beautiful space yet so close to the CBD. They also hold plenty of events throughout the year – the open air cinema in January is fantastic for all ages – and free! Plenty of good facilities for the kids too! Definitely a must visit for locals and tourists alike.
