2 weeks agoFun trails which are largely made up of fast and open flow with some jump lines and a little bit of single track. Beautiful views from up at the top make it worth the climb.5 months agoWell maintained trails close to town with plenty of veriety and good amenities at the Codgers hub, including toilets, bike tools, and a wash down area.6 years agoGreat rides! I only had a chance to do the rail trail Dun mountain trail ride to the top. Quite a climb and tops out at 900m but quite achievable for a moderate fitness level and bike skills. Be back next trip to smash up the rear of the park!3 weeks agoUphill is steep. Trails are good. After a pretty intense uphill walk for a regular walker the summit offers a great view of the surrounds and ocean. After regaining my breath it was certainly worth the effort.
Beautiful place, make sure you have no clouds for the best views. Many short walks/hikes to the top. Bring water in the summer!
The Center of New Zealand is a captivating destination that offers stunning panoramic views of Nelson and its surroundings. The short but rewarding hike to the summit provides a unique perspective of the city and Tasman Bay. The historical significance, marked by a central geodetic survey marker, adds a layer of interest to the site. It’s an accessible and worthwhile spot for both locals and visitors, offering a delightful combination of natural beauty and historical relevance.
Pretty average walk. The view is okay from the middle of New Zealand but found better views of Nelson from other parts of the track. Parts of the structure are old and faded. Definitely more of a sentimental attraction.
Nice 20 minutes hike, spectacular view of the Nelson city and Tasman bay. No water or toilet at the summit so be prepared.
