Magnificent! Very modern, cosy and has clean facilities– toilets, small kitchen with hot water & fridge, meeting rooms & lifts. They have accessories (earrings, stationery, vases, etc.) for sale apart from having free access to books & dvds.

They have galleries and a very spacious terrace with tables & artistic displays where you can read books, have coffee or eat your packed lunch/take-away food.

The facilities here at Hyphen Wodonga library/gallery are well and truly above my expectations of a `multi purpose’ `all inclusive’ community service centre; absolutely up there with any major city library anywhere in the world! Just goes to show that while places like Hyphen Wodonga library gallery exist `BOOKS WILL `ALWAYS’ REMAIN ON THE SHELF’…. well done all involved.

It has become extremely noisy. I visited HW Library recently on a Sunday and used one of the computers. One man two seats away watched a football match and did not use earphones – typical rude white Australian behaviour. Another white man and his son were yelling across the area as if it was their home. When I complained to the librarian (‘In libraries everywhere around the world, it’s quiet’), the librarian regarded me haughtily and said that she would talk to the men but that it was ‘a public place’. I replied, ‘It’s a library’. Albury-Wodonga becomes more racist every day. Hey Aussies – raise your standards, you mediocre fools. What next, are you going to allow alcohol in the library??? IT’S A LIBRARY, NOT A BAR. Congratulations, white Australians. You do a fine job of ruining the country.

What an amazing asset for the community! This stunning 21st century building is equipped with everything you need. A wonderful library downstairs and Art gallery upstairs. This rivals the best public spaces I’ve seen in Sydney and Melbourne. Dare I say it is the best library in regional NSW/VIC? Go and see for yourself.

Nice place for a quick visit, the reception lady is so nice. The gallery is upstairs, good to open this yellow door and find out what tools they are hanging above

  1. This is a MUST SEE in Albury! ?
    – Impressive building: every angle offers a wonderful architectural perspective.
    – Beautifully curated exhibitions: we learn about the city’s pioneers, early inhabitants, aboriginal art crafts, and the very interesting history of Bonegilla and how it strongly influenced the multi-culturalism of today’s Australia.
    – Reading rooms: the perfect spot to enjoy a good book and some quiet time in this the delightful museum.
LibraryMuseum is beyond any expectations we could have. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  2. My family went here to this museum to see the “Underworld Mugshots from the roaring twenties” exhibition, and it was a great experience! I’ve learnt about the different criminals that once lived and i found it very fascinating! there was a great documentary that compared different criminal cases, which was also really cool to watch! There was a book with original cases, and there were clothes in the style of the twenties on a coat hanger, that you could put on and immerse yourself into the era. I would recommend for teens to explore and time travel back to the 1920s!

  3. Impressive building. The content in the exhibitions was fabulous. The collection of wedding dresses in the Bowerbird to Bride was stunning. However the creator of the exhibition thought there was no need to have information near each dress or a key to information about each dress. Plus there was very loud music which made it impossible to hear the video. I know it was the designer not the museum but I urge the museum to not allow that for future exhibitions.

  4. I attended the Albury City Library Museum today and went over to the Information booth to get some assistance. The person in the Information Booth was busy having a personal, social conversation with an apparent friend and couldn’t be bothered to stop and actually ‘do their job!’ After a few minutes of being ignored by the person in the ‘Information Booth’ I approached staff in another area and they were most helpful. What’s that saying? “You had one job…..”

  5. One of our favourite places to visit in town. We love storytime and the librarians are all fantastic. They also have interesting exhibitions and events from time to time. We also love that there is a family friendly cafe attached nearby to the library.
