The Communards (French: [kɔmynaʁ]) were members and supporters of the short-lived 1871 Paris Commune formed in the wake of the French defeat in the Franco-Prussian War.
After the suppression of the Commune by the French Army in May 1871, 43,000 Communards were taken prisoner, and 6,500 to 7,500 fled abroad. The number of Communard soldiers killed in combat or executed afterwards during the week has long been disputed—Prosper-Olivier Lissagaray put the number at 20,000, but estimates by more recent historians put the probable number between 10,000 and 15,000. 7,500 were jailed or deported under arrangements which continued until a general amnesty during the 1880s; this action by Adolphe Thiers forestalled the proto-communist movement in the French Third Republic (1871–1940).

  1. Excellent authentic Thai food, very reasonable prices. Best meal we had in Noumea so far this holiday! Had green curry, peanut sate, pad thai and eggrolls.

    Highly recommend.

  2. 2nd experience after our mishap the first time, and what a great experience!!! Copious plate, beautifully presented, with authentic tastes! For sure I will come back! Thank you for listening to us and using our comments to improve yourself ??

  3. Copious and very good dishes (the pad Thai is unbeatable in terms of quality/price). The hostess is at reception to take orders and is friendly and very good advisor.
First time I went there: the whole family (children included) was satisfied. I will return with pleasure.

  4. Authentic and super tasty Thai food in an unassuming location. As a south East Asian myself, I’d like to think I am a reasonable judge of Thai food. We tried a number of dishes over the two visits. The green curry, fried rice and stir fry were all very tasty and authentic, on par with what you’d get in Thailand. The masaman curry was a little disappointing and I’ve certainly had better in Sydney.
