Easy to walk around and view/read all the information. Friendly staff and Lyn was happy to talk about the different ships and history.

Bright, clean and air conditioned buildings.

Museum is only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Always looking for more volunteers. Unfortunately HMSA Gladstone is only open Sat/Sun to get onboard and view.

Amazing scale model naval vessel collection Knowledgeable and friendly staff Highly recommend a visit, especially the tour of HMAS Gladstone by John. Greater appreciation for all the protection that the maritime defences provide.

Called in here for a look today & did the combined museum & HMAS Gladstone tour. Museum is small but has many exhibits of an interesting nature. The volunteers were lovely. John took us around HMAS Gladstone & it was so interesting. I would have never thought there would be so many compartments on a small boat. The engines were massive, well to me, & sleeping quarters were cramped. I would never have been able to get up & down the steps in an emergency hence I won’t be joining the navy. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Boat took about an hour. Museum about half hour. Well worth a look. John was very knowledgeable.

  1. Very enjoyable visit. All three exhibitions were excellent. Ping Carlyon: Our Shining Stars was a wonderful insight to some very talented local young people. The Clare Belfrage touring exhibition was a chance to see something very special. The gift shop has some lovely things for sale.

  2. Popped in and was disappointed there wasn’t a museum only art. Gladstone has a rich history, and I was hoping to see some of it here, but it was sadly absent. The art on display was impressive for such a small community, and that was great to see. Admission is free, and the AC is awesome. The staff were super nice. If you have 30 mins to and hour pop in!

  3. Lovely gallery to visit for free.
Upon entry Friendly staff to explain the difference exhibits. I enjoyed the pottery display and the region has some great talented teenagers with their submissions.

Family friendly with two activity tables for the kids to draw.

  4. Excellent range of artists. The collection was very well presented. Very impressive styles and interaction. Free entry and a good visit on a quiet Gladstone weekend. No motorbikes though, just a really cool metal dragon.
