Secluded lake and grounds near Rainbow skifield. It can get extremely busy here during the summer season, however, you can have this whole place to yourself when quiet. Snowcapped mountains during the winter months make this popular spot a real special place. Toilets are available but no overnight camping is allowed. Also keep your pets at home if you are visiting this place. Also bring some insect repellent with you. The local sandflies can be a problem.

Stunning place! Like a piece of paradise in the world, just so peaceful and beautiful. There are many hiking tails, can just take one you can reach it. It’s cold here, will be a good idea to bring one more jacket

One of the best places to go when the weather is good. Awesome walks covering everyones abilities. My last walk was to Angelus Hut, it can be challenging and if the weather is bad it can be deadly, so know what you’re doing!! But when the weather is awesome…..well, just look at the photo…

  1. I did the hike from the Anchorage and it had some great views. It was a relatively flat hike with some stunning views. The best were on the proximity of the Anchorage along with the longest climb

  2. Stunning!! A must see on your New Zealand travels. If we would have been prepared there are some overnight huts in the area & a coastal walk that would have been nice to do overnight. We only did a day walk on the coastal trail.

  3. Lovely place. We did hiking for 2 hours go and come back 4 hours. It was great. We likes it. U cant be tired too much. If u wanna long road than u can camp there and u can stay in huts but before u need to book. Very beautiful views. U will love it ?????????

  4. After an overcast morning in Nelson, we were short on time so couldn’t squeeze in a walk in the . Instead the full park cruise allowed us to enjoy some gorgeous scenery.
