Papua New Guinea is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including many species found nowhere else in the world. The country’s wildlife sanctuaries are essential for protecting these unique animals and their habitats.
Three of the best wildlife sanctuaries in Port Moresby are the Port Moresby Nature Park, the PNG Wildlife Rescue Center, and the Sirinumu Dam Wildlife Sanctuary. These sanctuaries offer visitors the opportunity to see a variety of animals up close, learn about the importance of conservation, and support local efforts to protect PNG’s wildlife.

a month agoA decent hotel with reasonable services within the given price range. The food for sure is fresh and good quality which makes it my choice amongst all the competitors. Worth trying. Services need to improve especially the internet speed is too slow to manage your workload. The staff and Ops manager are very responsive. Happy and healthy eating folks.4 months agoI was staying in the city but came here for a dinner. i finally found a place which served local food which is “secure” by my country’s advice. the food was lovely and big portions. the ceviche was lovely and south American????. walking round the hotel, it was lovely and relaxed. nice pool and greenery everywhere. less businessman atmosphere and more holiday relax atmosphere. I had drinks with the tree kangaroos but went inside due to the mozzies. they were relentless. the food was surprisingly cheaper than in the western chain hotels and actually tastier I found. would definitely visit and potentially stay if I ever come back to POM city. enjoy my photos4 months agocame for lunches and it was nice and yummy. one thing is food serves very slow. but apart from that it’s amazing.11 months agoOne of the best places to go for lunch if you’re seeking authentic Papua New Guinea food. They serve a wide variety of dishes, but I highly recommend their seafood. With both indoor and outdoor dining options and delicious kulau (coconuts), it offers a great opportunity to enjoy.
a year agoSpacious rooms in a beautiful garden environment. Friendly and accomodating staff who are always eager to assist guests. Located less than 10 minutes from the airport and from Vision City. Perfect!

Incredible place you head to in Port Moresby! This “nature park” is like a zoo, filled with native PNG wildlife that might be hard to spot in the wild. There are aviaries filled with birds of paradise, rooms of tree-kangaroos and wallabies, cassowaries and crocodiles, and a whole reptile house.
One can walk around and see all the sights within an hour, but taking time to observe the animals and their unique behaviors is a must! There is a fun gift store, a small cafe, and lots of picnic tables and areas.
Highly recommend for anyone who comes to this area and wants to view some native creatures!
Very fun! Went around Valentines Day with a group of friends. There was a photographer taking photos near the entrance and cute little heart set ups
Love the Cafe there as well – burger is great. Workers are all friendly and professional
As long as you get a private security guard to take you there, it’s safe and got a good mix of animals and plants. It’s like, one of two places to visit in Port Moresby, so as far as PNG goes it’s one of the best sights in their capital.
It was absolutely fantastic.
It is really well managed and cared for. The enclosures are neat and give a sense of being in the forest with the animals. A must see if you are visiting Papua New Guinea!
With love from South Africa.
Ps: Take some mosquito spray with if you forget, don’t worry, they sell too.?
Very Clean and Organized, beautiful scenery for photography.
Also the place is nice and safe for family outings, outdoor birthday parties, wedding parties or ceremonies and many more.
If you happen to walk inside the park, you’ll bump into either a security guard or a cleaner , all friendly people working there and most of all very professional when they approach you.
Its a good place to relax and cool off after weeks or months of working in the heat in Moresby city or spending too much time indoor in the aircon.
Come see it yourself reward your lungs with some fresh air.??
