Whether you’re looking for a classic barbershop experience or a modern and trendy haircut, there’s a barber shop in Melbourne to suit your needs. Here are some tips on how to find a barber shop near you.
- Online search: One of the easiest ways to find a barber shop near you is to do an online search. Simply enter “barber shop near me” into a search engine and you’ll be provided with a list of options in your vicinity. You can further narrow down your search by specifying your location or filtering the results based on customer reviews or ratings.
- Ask for recommendations: Another way to find a great barber shop in Melbourne is to ask for recommendations from friends, family, or colleagues. They may have personal experiences with barbers in the area and can provide you with valuable insights or point you in the right direction.
- Explore local directories: Local directories such as Yellow Pages or True Local can also be helpful when searching for a barber shop near you. These directories often provide contact information, location details, and customer reviews, allowing you to make an informed choice.
- Check social media: Many barbershops in Melbourne have a presence on social media platforms such as Facebook or Instagram. By searching for barber shops in Melbourne on these platforms, you can discover their latest haircuts, grooming services, and even book an appointment online.
Once you have found a few barber shops near you, it’s a good idea to visit their websites or social media profiles to get a better sense of their services, prices, and customer reviews. This will help you make an informed decision and choose a barber shop that aligns with your preferences.

2 months agoHad an amazing experience with Tiffany, fixed my haircut from past error cuts, gave some helpful advice as well about my hairstyle for future cuts. Much appreciated Men’s Biz and Tiffany!a month agoI had my regular haircut here but this time was charged more than regular as notified more time needed but the result was not very pleasant. I was helped by a lady this time. All my regular Barbers left. Don’t mind to pay more dont mind new barber but the haircut is really not as good as before, I’ve been there every month for a while. I may consider change to somewhere else.a year agoMy 19yo son had a great cut & style, very friendly & great service. My son has special needs but was welcomed, comfortable & treated beautifully by your staff. Thanks2 months agoReally don’t know what to say about this place. A dude on a laptop and an inexperienced barber charging stupid prices for a haircut. $85 for a cut and half a beard trim ?. The must have seen me coming. Don’t go there. For note to the cutter. Get a job in a real barber shop, not run by a novel writing hipster.

in the last weekI’ve been coming to Rockit for the better part of the 2020s and have trusted Sean with getting my hair trim and sharp every time. Sean has been nothing but professional and friendly and I’ve loved our chats about everything under the sun while he masterfully gets my hair done. My haircuts from him have been consistent and I highly recommend him for all your hair needs.in the last weekEvan at Rockit has been taming my beard for the last few years and I can’t recommend their services nearly enough. A brilliant shop hidden in an arcade in Collins Street near Spencer. If you find a good barber, stay with them and I wouldn’t go anywhere else.in the last weekFirstly they don’t even deserve one ⭐, i think they have purchased the reviews. The barber Shawn destroyed my well maintained beard by his shaking hands. He was looking like he is in some other zone. Please don’t go to the shop if u love your hair and beard! They are a fraud!a week agoExcellent barber shop. Needed a beard trim before a week of meetings and the service was top notch. Talented barber. Highly Recommendin the last weekBest barbershop in the city. Been coming here for 10 years now. Can’t go wrong. Great people

In this article, we break down the average prices of men’s haircuts in different cities and for different types of cuts. Plus, we’ll share some tips on how to get a good haircut without breaking the bank.
Average Prices by City
The cost of a men’s haircut in Australia can vary depending on where you’re getting it done. Here’s an average cost breakdown by city:
City | Average Price |
---|---|
Sydney | $35 |
Melbourne | $35 |
Brisbane | $30 |
Perth | $30 |
Adelaide | $30 |
Gold Coast | $35 |
Canberra | $35 |
Average Prices by Haircut Type
The style you choose can also have a significant impact on the overall cost. Here is a breakdown of average prices for different types of men’s haircuts:

---|---|
Fade | $40 |
Buzz Cut | $25 |
Crew Cut | $30 |

Professional service and vibing atmosphere, with complimentary drinks (you choice of water/sparkling water/beer). I knew the place because of a $20 off promotion (even though seems like the cashier didn’t know about it and I had to show her myself).
My experience with Ben was very great, even though he is new here. He is very professional, though I sense that he is still a bit quiet. Noticing that my hair type was one that is hard to style, he gave me recommendations on what to do or which style to follow, as well as giving instructions on how to apply clay to my hair efficiently. I am guessing that Ben is the guy to go for fades and beard trim.
The price here is quite pricey than other barber shops, and varies depending on the stylist. The cheapest you can get for a haircut is $70, and the rest are mostly around $100. So I’d probably recommend preparing your questions to make the most out of the spending.
Possibly the best barber experience I’ve ever had, Simon really made me feel comfortable and truly listened to what i wanted & delivered it, truly recommend him. Beyond happy with the result of my cut & will be a regular for sure.
the shop atmosphere is cozy too with a great vibe.
Bonus of having drinks offered too, thank you.
Have tried every highly rated barber (& award winning) in Sydney, Melbourne & London over the past 8 years combined. Daniel Fortino is the best I’ve experienced. Hands down. There is nothing else to add, this man is truly a master of his craft. A very rare men’s hairdresser and absolute legend of a bloke. The salon itself is also elite. Book him while you can.
After visiting few barbershops here in Melbourne i think i found the best one! I just had the best haircut thanks to Simon Doyle he explained everything to me and definitely how i wanted my hair to look. Highly Recommended.
Great environment, loved the atmosphere, good pre-consult before the cut.
Very Professional service throughout the whole experience
Good to have someone who knew what they were doing and could make recommendations.
