3 months agoLidia went above and beyond in providing us warm and exceptional customer service on both visits to the watermark. She also gave us some great recommendations for spots to see for our next visit to Townsville. Thank you Lidia, our dining experience wouldn’t have been the same without you!4 months agoAmbience top notch. Waiters are too busy but are very kind and well mannered. But it’s hard to get an exact idea what you are ordering without any picture of the food item you wish to have. That side I was a bit disappointed. But overall good restaurant
2 weeks agoNow I would of given 5 star for the food but the entrees lacked, we got the chicken wings which were so dry and old, it wasn’t a good start but im glad we stayed because I ordered the lamb shoulder for main which was amazing! Fall off the bone, and the mint paste topped it off.5 months agoHad such a wonderful breakfast this morning at watermark with two friends. Chilled relaxed vibe with spectacular sea views! Breakfast was delicious, runny eggs, avocado and gluten free bread alternatives. They also have the best coffee on the strand! Thanks watermark!6 months agoSaw Watermark recommended as a must-do in Townsville and it’s no wonder why. The staff were amazing and friendly (especially Lidia – thanks for the chats) and the view, drinks and food were brilliant. We shared scallops & oysters for an entree and then fish Tacos and muscles for the mains. So fresh, tasty and filling. The cocktails (especially the Watermark Margarita) were spot on. Highly recommended for a meal in Townsville.

5 Replies to Discover the Most Popular 10 Rest Area in Townsville, Queensland
Attended for my daughter’s year 12 formal (William Ross High School).
I did not stay as there were no rooms available for my needs.
For the price of the dinner tickets and the location, I expected the food to be of a much higher standard.
While the entree of the Pork Belly was nice, the skin wasn’t crispy. The main of the steak was most disappointing. It was overcooked, dry, and tough. For a premium cut, it should’ve been medium doneness at most. Not past “well done.”
The dance floor was too small to accommodate attendee numbers.
The layout of tables and presentation was good. The wait staff were polite and efficient. The food really let the night down.
Also, I noticed an under-age (approx 10yo)child in the resort gym on the treadmill who almost fell off it twice. This was reported to reception.
Good resort to stay at for a short weekend away.
Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable.
Miss Songs restaurant is a must – food was fresh and tasty.
Resort food is quite average and takes a long time to arrive when ordered.
Staff service was average but not bad.
Not at all set up for families, pounding bass from the club downstairs until late; great for party animals though.
Restaurant is nice but very overpriced, better off going into town.
Service was awful, screwed up our coffee order and when we asked him about it he just shrugged and walked off.
Also found out after we checked out that apparently breakfast was included but there was never any mention of that and they made out that we should have known.
We won’t be back.
I have been staying at this hotel for the past 8 years and the service and facilities have declined significantly.
My most recent stay was last night. My partner and I stayed in the Executive King room – the same room we always stay in. The price has increased by over $150 a night over the last few years but the rooms have not been improved at all. The prices have also changed to be listed in USD instead of AUD on the website (ridiculous when it’s a hotel in Australia). Beware of that as we initially thought we were paying $315 for the room (we have paid $330 for the same room in the past so it didn’t seem out of the ordinary).
To begin with – we arrived over an hour after check in time and the room was not ready. The staff were apologetic and provided a voucher for 2 free drinks but after paying $480 a night for a room we really expect it to be ready at the advertised check in time.
We book this specific room because it has a bath, however, when I went to take a bath late last night, the plug did not work. I wasted time trying to fill the bathtub before realising water was slowly draining because the plug didn’t block the drain entirely. I brought this up with the reception staff at check out and they informed us we should have called them last night and they would have sent maintenance to fix it. They said they were unable to provide any compensation because they weren’t aware of this issue and that it’s our fault because we didn’t call them straight away. I feel like this is really poor service – especially for their premium rooms. The bath is a key feature of this room. For it not to be useable, but also not to be routinely inspected, is incredibly poor.
The only redeeming feature of the room was the view – as always it was stunning. But it is definitely overpriced and not worth it.
I’d also like to add that the portion sizes for food are abysmal and an absolute rip off. Pictured is a $13 bowl of chips from the QD (delivered to the pool). I have been dining at the QD for years – every time we travel to TSV. The portion sizes have nearly halved in the last year whilst the prices stay the same. This is a joke.
The pool was lovely and the convenience of QR code ordering to your chair is a big bonus. It is disappointing that the happy hour prices aren’t updated in the ordering app/website. It’s also worth noting that it can take 15 – 20 minutes for your drink to arrive if ordered via QR code so it’s quicker to just go to the bar yourself. If ordering food – allow extra time. It took 45 minutes for a single bowl of chips to arrive.
The buffet breakfast was good as always – great selection of food for an affordable price. I was pleased to see more vegan options and all dietaries clearly labelled.
Whilst there were definitely some positives to note during our stay, overall, we are just disappointed.
My partner and I met at this hotel, we got engaged here, and we have spent every anniversary here. It is a sentimental place for us but unfortunately, we won’t be returning. We are very disappointed to see the hotel (and restaurants) go downhill like they have.
The breakfast is amazing. So many different types of food. You couldn’t try them all. If you have dairy problems they will cook food just for you. Lovely friendly helpful staff. Great value for money.
