The city ranger mentioned to be careful for sharps and inspected it prior as we had kids. She mentioned the nicer toilets are across the road in the shopping complex.

The toilet is very creatively decorated on the outside. The inside is clean, everything you need is there.

  1. The Absolute worst public bathroom I’ve ever been to. Liquid (probably pee) and rubbish on the floor and the toilet even leaked when it flushed. The public bathroom definitely needs fixing up

  2. It’s amusing how terribly designed these toilets are, I had this written up anyway just for a laugh with friends and family:

There’s a button to open the door, and once you’re inside, there’s a button to close it. I couldn’t see a way to lock it from the inside, but there was a light on the outside to show if it was vacant or not so I guess it should be detecting me being in there and auto-locking.

I double check if there’s enough toilet paper left, you can’t check, it’s all hidden and you push a button for it to unroll a few squares of paper and there’s a limit of like 2 button pushes every 10-15 seconds.

I wasn’t finished wiping when someone outside pushed the button and the door simply opened….

But wait, there’s more. There’s no button to force-flush the toilet, a sign says you either wash your hands (sensor activates the sink) or leave the room. Ok so I wash hands, the toilet starts flushing, weakest flush I’ve seen in my life, almost none of the toilet paper goes down. I trigger the wash sensor again and the toilet doesn’t flush, it’s programmed to not flush too frequently because the 3rd time made it flush again.

That’s about it. Enjoy. Whoever designed this got paid too much.

  3. There was always a line for these bathrooms and they had water all over the floor.

Wollongong has a profound lack of parking and public bathrooms along the foreshore. What’s up with that??
