The Front Desk at YMCA, Penrith have to be trained to speak to customers appropriately,. * also they have a age limit at the Play area mentioned as 2 to 6yrs and there were 12 or 13 yr old boys being playing and rough, as our 5yr old daughter got scared to step into the play area.

When informed this to the front staff, they were very rude and ignorant.

This is a very poor quality behaviour on their behalf.

They need to improve their behaviour.

It all starts well but soon you realise your input and concerns mean nothing. It’s all about the money and not the kids happiness. They do the whole PR thing with the token customer service lines, but it’s all fake.

YMCA is great for the family. My daughter does gymnastics there. Most of the casual classes suffer thanks to the more advanced classes get to use most of the equipment before any others. Seating needs to be improved as watching your child can be very hard as the vision is blocked by equipment. Great for parties. Rock climbing and a gym there makes it a little better.

The best place for gymnastics in Penrith. My daughters love this place, the staff are great and very good with teaching and explaining the techniques to little kids.

  1. If you have a toddler and want to burn some energy, definitely a place to go. Their preschool program is amazing and my 4 year old is always excited to go there.

  2. This is where my daughter does her fencing, Very convinient location, close to Revesby train station and shops. Amenities are clean and everyone are always eager to help

  3. YMCA has completely unfair terms and conditions. They have cancelled numerous classes in the last few months. When they cancel classes, they’re happy to offer credits for any cancelled classes. But as soon as the parents need to cancel a class, they absolutely refuse to offer any credits. Why is it ok for YMCA to willy nilly cancel as many classes as they want in the last minute, as often as they want, but as soon as us parents need to cancel, it’s not ok and they refuse to offer credits? I even called today to give them almost a one week notice whereas they can cancel classes on the day of the class!

The manager tried to tell me that no one else has any problems with their terms and conditions or services and that they have extremely high retention rate. Well, my child has been at YMCA since the beginning of the year (9 months now) and she’s been there longer than any other child. In fact, all other kids just come and go. All the other kids stay for a single session, a few weeks or at most a few months before the parents leave. So clearly you do NOT have high retention rates and other parents and their children are NOT completely happy with YMCA.

My child has been at The Y Bankstown for 9 months – longer than any other child. Congratulations, you’ve now made me, the last remaining parent from the beginning of the year, withdraw my child because of your ridiculous terms and conditions.
