Pros and Cons of Shopping at Woolworth

Woolworths and traditional markets both offer different shopping experiences that cater to different needs and preferences. Here are some pros and cons to consider when choosing between the two:

Woolworth:

  • Pros:
  • – Convenience: Woolworths stores are typically located in easily accessible areas, making it convenient for shoppers to visit.
  • – Wide variety: Woolworths offers a wide range of products, including groceries, clothing, household items, and electronics, providing shoppers with one-stop shopping convenience.
  • – Quality assurance: Woolworths often offers branded products, ensuring a certain level of quality for shoppers.
  • – Online shopping: Woolworths also provides the option for shoppers to purchase items online and have them delivered to their doorstep, saving time and effort.
  • Cons:
  • – Higher prices: Compared to traditional markets, Woolworths products are generally priced higher due to factors such as branding and convenience.
  • – Limited bargaining: Shoppers may not have the opportunity to negotiate prices or bargain with sellers as they would in traditional markets.
  • – Less personal interaction: The shopping experience at Woolworths may lack the personal interaction and connection that can be found in traditional markets.

Traditional market:

  • Pros:
  • – Lower prices: Traditional markets often offer products at lower prices compared to Woolworth, as they usually source directly from producers or wholesalers.
  • – Bargaining opportunities: Shoppers can negotiate prices or bargain with sellers, potentially obtaining better deals.
  • – Fresh and local products: Traditional markets are known for offering a variety of fresh and locally sourced products, allowing shoppers to support local businesses and enjoy a unique shopping experience.
  • – Personal interaction: Shoppers can directly communicate with sellers, forming connections and gaining insights about the products they are purchasing.
  • Cons:
  • – Limited variety: Traditional markets may have a limited range of products compared to larger stores like Woolworth.
  • – Inconvenience: Traditional markets are often located in specific areas, requiring shoppers to travel to reach them.
  • – Time-consuming: Shopping at traditional markets can be more time-consuming due to the need to visit multiple stalls or vendors to find everything on your shopping list.

Food Court – Clean spacious and not like a big open canteen area – broken up well into spaces and has a licensed area ! Great design full of light – only tried one food outlet which was nice so can’t comment on the others – love the Woolworths on the bottom floor and connection through Hay St and St George’s Terrace- Woolworths – good one – separate sushi counter and Japanese dishes in fast cooked food I have not seen before – quick – lots of self serve – one of the nicer ones across Australia that I have seen

The staff in St George’s Terrace branch deserve a medal!. It’s next to my work so pop in several times per week. Staff are always very helpful and cheerful. Barbara in particular at the front desk is such a customer service professional and very kind. Grateful ?

Closest thing to a full sized supermarket in the city centre. Fruit and veg could be fresher, but good for a general shop. More spacious than the Woolies on Murray St, and slightly more variety.

Can be busy but has most of what you need. Prices are comparable with aldi, Coles and spudsheds. Has better stock intake compared to other woolies in south of the river.

There were lots of itemised tags with prices on but we could not get a few things on the racks because they were all gone. Indeed a very good supermarket at a very good strategical location that had attracted a high volume of visitors. The lesson learned is never to shop in this market on a very late afternoon. What to do? Be an early bird though! Haha, cheers! (2022-04)

  1. Woolworths in the Murray Street Mall close to Barrack Street, has it all, even has BWS liquor Outlet right next to it so you can grab you’re whole grocery basket for the next week right there in the City. Woolworths itself is abit cave like walking in but I can assure you it has everything with great service to boot. Fish, Deli, Bakery, Self-service, it has the lot. It’s not over busy but I went in the morning, today and it was easy, go check it out grab some yummy bakery items or some Deli goodies, well done Woolies!

  2. Woolworths Murray Street Mall in Perth
    Visited on 27/5/2022

This is neither on Murray Street, nor that visible along Murray Street Mall. It is near Barrack Street, slightly tucked away from the main flow of the Mall. There are some potted plants in the passage way to the store.

It is a typical Woolworths store, bright, clean and everything is well labelled. The shelves are well stocked. It seens many customers go for the bakery itens as well as the Japanese ready-to-eat packed sushi.

This year the large seedless grapes are large and firm, and carriy a fairly hefty private tag.

The liquor arm of Woolworths, BWS, is just next to it.

  3. Great deals were happening we had never really been there but went in for a few drinks and had a lot of fun for some reason. Maybe it was the bustling atmosphere but overall I mean we didn’t need anyone to assist us so nothing to say about that I guess the lay it was easy enough to navigate hence why we didn’t need any assistance and plus we only really went in for drinks thanks for reading my ramble ?

  4. Nice store, but no melting moments. Once per week if lucky. I have to ask a friend to get them from Kingsley. How ridiculous. None Vic Pk, none any at City stores, Highgate if you are lucky and shop on the day they cook them. Very popular, I buy for other people if they have any. Shop at Coles otherwise!!
