Very impressive building for Post Office and very happy with the staff who took care us. She is very polite and helpful. Plus, there are many good prices items and toys to shop there as well… We end up with 2 big bags, in stead of just a candle.
Great staff friendly and very helpful. Knowledgeable on their services and stock.
Great range of non traditional post office items such as cooking portable appliance sewing machine books also stationary printers inks etc.
Easy to move around in what is one of Armidale’s best kept historical buildings
Located right in the centre of the city with the mall and stage out the front. Posting boxes out the front.
Went there today to drop the parcel. Old lady with short curly hair(don’t remember her name) in the front counter was very rude and unpolite without any reason. She sent me to another staff as she couldn’t scan the parcel. However, another staff was friendly and helpful.
Such a shame that the customer service is bad. I experienced discomfort when a staff (a lady with dark curly hair and glasses) acted rudely when I asked her politely about a package that needed to be picked up.
My wife also had the same experience when a staff (an old lady whom I thought to be the same person) was complaining grumpily in front of my wife about the “missing address” in the ‘Something for you’ card my wife gave her. What the staff could’ve and should’ve done was to type down the code on the card on her computer in order to reveal the address.
I’m very happy with the service at Australia Post here in Armidale. In fact, thinking about the service I get at Australia Post outlets I’ve gone to everywhere, as well as on the phone, it’s been very good!
So many happy encounters to tell of, but here are a couple; my very first Amazon order, made just recently, which also arrived earlier than the time frame estimated, was automatically redirected by Australia Post staff from my parents’ street address to their P.O. Box .. brilliant!
And another recently sent, and much anticipated parcel, addressed to where my parents had been staying, from Israel, with a tracking number, was redirected, since they’d left where they were, and had dropped off the radar. Calling Australia Post about it they found the parcel had been redirected to the wrong address, where it had been photographed; they wouldn’t say where it had gone to during the call, for I assume security reasons; but they estimated it would probably take up to a week to get to my parents, and to contact them again if it hadn’t.
Well, much excitement could be heard at the front door the next morning! The Armidale Australia Post postman, who’d delivered the parcel previously to a next door neighbor, who’s address had clearly been mistakenly been put on the parcel when redirected, so absolutely no fault of Australia Post, had turned up!
He’d retrieved the parcel, and delivered it personally to my parents within one day of my letting Australia Post know it hadn’t arrived! Amazing service!
And I’ve also had foreign surface mail subscription magazines arrive before their month of issue, as well as replacement credit cards arrive in the same week I’ve ordered them interstate from my bank; brilliant again!
Looking at some of the reviews here, I suspect those who are happy often don’t say anything, and those who do could perhaps be more friendly and understanding when dealing with staff they encounter in retail outlets.
Anyway, I thought I’d share some positive experiences I’ve had over many years with Australia Post Australia wide. I also find the Australia Post website very helpful too. And to my way of thinking, for the most part, on a vast number of occasions at Australia Post outlets the staff at the counters have been very courteous and happy to help.
