What to Consider When Visiting an Op Shop in Albany
When going to a thrift store in Australia, there are several things to consider in order to have a successful and enjoyable shopping experience.
Firstly, it is important to have a clear understanding of what you are looking for. Thrift stores can be overwhelming with their vast selection of items, so it helps to have a specific idea in mind. Whether it is clothing, home decor, or electronics, having a clear goal will make your shopping trip more focused and efficient.
Secondly, it is beneficial to do some research on the thrift stores in your area. Not all thrift stores are created equal, so finding ones that align with your style and price range is important. Look up reviews or ask friends for recommendations to get an idea of which stores are worth visiting.
Additionally, it is helpful to have a budget in mind before heading to the thrift store. While thrift stores offer great deals, it is easy to get carried away and overspend. Set a price range for yourself and stick to it to avoid any regrets later on.
In terms of etiquette, remember to be respectful and considerate while shopping in a thrift store. Keep in mind that you are in a second-hand store and the items may have some wear or imperfections. Treat the merchandise with care, and avoid making a mess or leaving items in disarray.
Lastly, be prepared to spend some time browsing through the store. Thrift stores tend to have a wide range of items, and it may take a while to find exactly what you are looking for. Be patient and enjoy the process of discovering hidden gems.
Overall, going to a thrift store in Australia can be a fun and rewarding experience if you keep these considerations in mind. Happy thrifting!

5 Replies to Op Shop 101: The Top 10 Biggest in Albany
The worst experience I have ever had in a retail store. The assistant was so rude. Pushing past me while I was selecting clothes with no “excuse me”. She knocked me when she came to put more clothes on shelves. When I asked her to be a bit more polite, she said “why”. I walked out leaving about $20 worth of clothes, I won’t be back.
If you take your time to have a good look you can find some good bargains however like with most opshops now far too expensive for second hand clothing etc. They have a gold section that had items for $15.00 and up when you could buy them new for not much more. A cardigan from Sara which is ezibuy is not designer so not worth paying $$$$ for a second hand one. I know its a business but people who can’t afford clothing are better off going to kmart than charity shops now.
Not bad for a salvos. Very limited selection but reasonably priced. The store seems to get a little busy and has a far few parking spaces. Will be back to see if they get any more stock in.
Found just what we were looking for – a 70s style men’s shirt!
Friendly staff and niece and clam and quiet
