5 months agoThis shop is unfortunately pricing it’s customers out. The “vintage and retro” items are much dearer here than at actual vintage shops. I understand that pickers purchase from op shops to resell at a higher price. Why not allow them to support their small business and your charity at the same time? Ultimately the current pricing model is costing people the dignity of being able to a. purchase in the first place and b. resell to make a little extra money. As for the clothing, it’s also far too dear. A used Adidas women’s cropped jacket for $70? They were around that brand new 5 years ago. Really sad to hear elderly pensioners discussing having to put the things they liked back on the rack as they couldn’t afford it. Your prices are humiliating the very people your charity supports. Management needs a wake up call.2 months agoYour pricing of ‘designer’ clothing is becoming out of hand. I saw a Meshki dress on a designer rack today for 50 dollars?! Meshki is not even designer. Gone is the day of the thrilling hunt for a high quality item at a low price. This is unfair for low income earners who come to your shops to find a great deal. Rip off. Two stars because you have good parking.3 months agoPrices in here are extortionate. $75 for a blanket , $10 for a kids jumper. I am a lifetime op shopper and also a community worker and this seems obscene in one of Tassie’s most disadvantaged cities. The manager (assume wasn’t a volunteer with the attitude she had) also yelled at my kids and snatched a kitchen implement out of my 7 year olds hand.5 months agoUsually have lots of good stuff but it’s not cheap. Go across the road to Kmart if your goal is affordable clothing. But if you want to find some gems this is a good place to look.5 months agoLarge store, very good variety of options. They have designer rack and really good ones. Although they are a bit pricey compared to other vinnies store.

5 Replies to Op Shop 101: The Top 8 Biggest in Launceston
Situated in on the main road in Invermay the salvo store is a great place to shop for a bargain. I was with my family and the friendly and helpful staff gave good advice that get our 70s costumes. While there we saw some interesting items that we bought for our everyday wardrobe. There is an appropriately sized car park at the front door.
A large store with a variety of products to purchase, however I believe their store front in the city offers better and more reasonably priced products.
Layout was confusing with clothes organised by colour or style rather than size.
Absolutely a rip off. Prices for clothes are way to high. It’s cheaper to go to Kmart and get new stuff. They are greedy like all these places.
Heaps of little goodies, great range of fashion… Staff friendly…
Clothes are far too expensive. AS is their furniture. Does this shop remember that items are given free, staff volunteer & atm people have no spare money owing to the cost of living. I myself have not had it so bad. I’ve always managed & GG ad money left after eCh single aged pension. Not any more & I don’t smoke ,drink alcohol or gamble. The only time I leave home is to get groceries & see a doctor, even that costs money, and there would be hundreds like me. It’s a scary world ? today . Greed gas taken over everywhere now.
