Rotorua (Māori: [ˌɾɔtɔˈɾʉa]) is a city in the Bay of Plenty Region of New Zealand's North Island. The city lies on the southern shores of Lake Rotorua, from which it takes its name. It is the seat of the Rotorua Lakes District, a territorial authority encompassing Rotorua and several other nearby towns. Rotorua has an estimated resident population of 58,900, making it the country's 12th largest urban area, and the Bay of Plenty's second-largest urban area behind Tauranga.
Rotorua is a major destination for both domestic and international tourists; the tourism industry is by far the largest industry in the district. It is known for its geothermal activity, and features geysers – notably the Pōhutu Geyser at Whakarewarewa – and hot mud pools. This thermal activity is sourced to the Rotorua Caldera, in which the town lies.

  1. Very impressive library, spacious, modern and versatile. Disable access friendly and internal lift is available. Multiple levels inside the building and good if not a huge range of books available. Ample street parking nearby, kids playground out in front. Good place for visiting.

  2. Very well organised and arranged library with good collection of books. We can also take print out from there at very low cost. There is JP available twice in a week. There is free WiFi available.

  3. Wide selection of books and magazines, friendly volunteer staff, various activities that allow you to connect with the community… and you can bring in food and drink while you read!

  4. Good library. Nice selection of free and rental books and magazines. Smaller now with less range. With a membership you can get audio books and ebooks. Soon the library will be closed on Sundays.

  5. This library is an amazing place to visit! The selection of books is in a very wide range of topics, from history to comics. This library is a very impressive one than most of the ones I’ve visited. They have a computer station and a print station which you can use for free, except the printer which you have to pay money to print. They accept EFTPOS and coins and cash. This place is a very kid friendly spot where your kids can play and read in. The children books are in a very wide range from Hairy Maclary to Diary of a Wimpy Kid. They have reading spots where the kids can read at. You should apply for a membership card so that you can take out books, reserve books, renew books and etc. This place is amazing and it is a place you should visit first if you ever visit Rotorua. 10/10.
