Drive-in theatres (also known as drive-in cinemas or just drive-ins) were once very popular in Australia. Although considered an American invention, there is evidence of outdoor cinemas in Western Australia where some patrons attended in their cars as far back as 1938, and it is possible that these facilities may even predate the first American-style drive-in theatre.

  1. Randomly walked in on a sunday. The on-site manager allowed me to purchase a ticket to gold pass even though the session had already started and the gold staff were in the highest remarks. I greatly appreciate their attention to detail and last minute add-on of myself and food and drink requests. Would 100% recommend ?

  2. Truly wonderful cinemas.
    Outstanding comfortable + size seating.
Beautiful Heritage building with royal staircase and gorgeous interior.
9 Cinemas including Gold Class and a party room cinema for the kiddies !!!
Fully serviced cafe and bar all in central location with ample parking ???

  3. This building is beautiful. It made visiting the theatres more special. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.
Nice that they have elevators but try to take the stairs if you can, just to see the architecture.

The theatre itself was nice and clean and I love that everyone seems to have a backrow feel.

The staff at the food counters was a little touch and go. Some seemed like they just didn’t want to be there.

  4. Went in to Gold Class last night, everything was good however the service from Josh was next level – Give the man a raise and make him the boss!! Hands down the best service we have had at Regent ever.

  5. Probably the worst cinema I’ve experienced, payed for gold class tickets yknow so you can enjoy a movie just another step up… nah not this one they don’t even bring you your food then when complaining about it to the manager he just shrugs it off as to say it happens all the time or something, asked for at least some compensation like a refund that was a no go by the looks of the managers face not even like a next time you come in discount… just very bad management again I repeat very bad management might need to let go of the handle old man. To me the only way going to this cinema would to just buy a normal ticket and hope to get the cool looking cinema room only redeeming quality tbh but I would have to be forced to go back there not going on my own accord. And this was my first ‘gold class experience’. Pfft
