Amazing place and such a great idea. So many opportunities for pics in a large array of themes. Kids had a blast. Allow longer than you think you need as there is so many options to be creative.

We will visit again as we missed so much and we’re rushed

Loved it! Such a hidden gem. We took so many cool photos and the paintings were amazing! Each painting had instructions where to stand and suggestion how to take the photo for optimal effect. Tip: to not get lost in the center, it’s located ground level next to Kathmandu.

Its a wonderful space where perspective is best seen through a cameras eye. Get the right angle and it appears impossibility is reality. They have marks on the ground to help identify best spots for the illusion. Well worth the visit and definitely book online.

  2. HOTA’s gallery space is a true marvel, boasting eye-catching architecture and vibrant colors. It stands out as one of my favorite buildings in the Goldy due to its unique and captivating design.

The exhibitions cater to a wide range of artistic tastes, ensuring there’s something for everyone. The option for free admission with donation opportunities is a nice touch, making it accessible to all.

  3. It is fun and free outing for the whole family. Free admission and parking make it an easy choice, and there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
For the little ones, there’s a dedicated kids’ gallery where they can unleash their creativity with coloring books, reading and exhibits.
there’s even a movie theater on site!

  4. Went here today with my partner and 2.5 year old. Honestly, we were so impressed! Not only is it free, but the kids exhibition is really cute. My daughter really enjoyed it.

The museum itself is beautiful, the staff all super lovely and helpful, and the food on the rooftop was high quality at a reasonable price. Would recommend to anyone looking for something to do for a few hours ?

  5. HOTA is interesting in every way. The architecture is sculptural, iconic as well as functioning display spaces set on 4 levels. Current exhibitions include Sneakers Unboxed (ticketed entry from $10) , Made in Surfers and Donna Marcus. Each was curated with complimentary lighting and spread out to showcase each piece. The engaging Donna Marcus sculptures are made from recycled aluminium domestic ware such as multiple pot lids, cups, bowls and steamers. Their repetition and arrangement changes the viewers perception of these purely functional pieces. They are recontructed into decorative patterns of subtle colours, shadows, and composite shapes. The fifth floor has a bar and viewing area of the surfers skyline and HOTA precinct and there is a cafe on the ground floor. Arriving early ensured a parking spot and uncrowded view of the artworks. Friendly staff were proactive offering insight into the exhibitions, giving directions and answering our questions. We were also impressed by the quality and variety of items available in the gallery shop.
