Something different for the kids, an all sand playground with many different types of fastened scoops and pulleys for sand pour and transport play. Most of the sand is of the larger rough variety. Large slide and other climb play available. Decent shading in the afternoon of spring, with decent wind blocking. Water play available too but some pumps required some strength i.e. adult help required. Beach is right next to it, but it was very windy and quite littered when visited. Toilets available short walk away. Free parking available.

Beautiful park and play area for the kids. My Boys 4 and 5 years old love it. Tucked away… water play on hot weather… or on cold weather… depending how well your kids listen to you. Mine not so much

This playground in Port Melbourne is (literally) a hidden gem. Reminiscent of an abandoned shipyard, the playground is an easy 20 minutes walk from the tram station and Station Pier. Best time to visit is late afternoon for the stunning sunset.

  1. If you’re looking for a fun place to take your kids, this spot is a must-visit. There are plenty of obstacle courses that both kids and parents will enjoy, but keep in mind that there isn’t much shade, so be sure to come prepared with hats, sunscreen, and plenty of water. There’s also a water fountain that kids love, so it’s a good idea to bring extra clothes if you plan on staying a while. I personally recommend going in the late evening to avoid the heat of the day.And if you’re planning a family BBQ, you’re in luck! There are several BBQ facilities available for use. All in all, this is a great spot for families looking to enjoy a fun day outdoors together.

  2. Such a great park! spacious, great variety of play areas, a very nice sandpit section, swings, slides, water play, green areas to play ball games. Plenty of shaded areas.

Really enjoyed our time at this park!

  3. Awesome park with multiple play areas, incorporating water elements and great climbing activities nestled between beautiful landscape architecture. It’s definitely a nature park and one of, if not our favourite park.

  4. Perfect way to spend time waiting for appointments while at the Royal Children’s Hospital! This is a diverse playground with different zones catering to all ages (including adventurous adults!). Low and high ropes courses, various swings and slides, water and sand play/pumping stations and several other climbing structures make this nature playground perfect for expending energy and engaging in active and imaginative play. Always a highlight of our trips to the Children’s.
