2 months agoHad the most fantastic day, dropped off with our bikes, just a 20 minute drive from the shop. Gorgeous scenery, plenty of amazing winery’s & coffee shops and no hills to climb. We (couple) picked up a bike at 8am & did the 38k route. Loved the detailed route suggestions at the start with the personalized map based on what we wanted. The path is fantastic, with superb 360 views pretty much everywhere! We booked a wine tasting and stopped on the way. I’d highly recommend doing this over pretty much any other tour. Directions are easy, and you feel like a kid who just got their driving license, both the freedom and thrill. You can go as fast or slow, as easy or hard as you want with the e-bikes. Thanks to the entire team here, you made our 1 day stop in Napier the best it could be!3 months agoVery helpful and kind. Bikes all in good working order and we had a great self-paced tour. The minibus pick up from the end of the bike ride even took us back to our base. Literally going the extra mile. ?a month agoWe loved it! Took a bit of a detour to hit another winery per the staff recommendations since one of the wineries was closed on a Thursday. All of the wineries were fantastic, the scenery was beautiful, and we had no issues with any of our 4 bikes. We even booked on the wrong day and the staff was so accommodating to get us bikes despite their packed schedule. Highly recommend this place! Thank you!

Seamless experience collecting our bikes, and the return transfer was great too.
Comfortable bikes and easy to follow maps along a pretty coastal trail.
We’ll be recommending to anyone visiting Napier.
It was a fantastic day, we visited 5 wineries, we ate, we drank, we were merry! The bikes were in excellent condition, the staff brilliant and accommodating and we can’t recommend Takaro Trails more highly!!
Started our cycle at Nelson Quay and rode along the interesting coastline along the bike path all the way. The sight of a hundred black swans between Clive and Black Bridge was quite a spectacle. Ended at Te Awanga Estate, a delightful place for delicious food and wine tasting was most refreshing before our welcome pickup!
We had such a great day on the Takaro Trails ride recently. The weather was stunning and the service from the team was excellent. We booked lunch ahead of time at Te Awanga which was ready when we got there along with a reserved table and the service at all the wineries we visited was exceptional.
We would recommend e bikes to others’ contemplating the activity but other than that, our experience was fabulous. Thank you Takaro Trails team. Annie and Craig Russell
The staff were so friendly, they went above and beyond to help us have a magical day. From ensuring the bikes were right fit for us and our children, to talking through the different trail options to giving us numerous recommendations and tips and tricks. We were really impressed with the service and are looking forward to returning and hiring their bikes again.
