in the last weekMy first time writing a review on Google Map is for the fabulous receptionists in Bealey Quarter. Due to my stupid touching a button and locking my suitcase without writing down the passwords of both lockers, I was almost crying at the reception. The staff at the reception tried their best to comfort me and help me. Grace, one of the staff, helped me test the passwords one by one and finally she found out the correct passwords in a short time. It was almost a task cannot be done and she did. This is a lovely hostel and I will definitely book again when I am back to Christchurch. Cheers to all of you and your kindness.a month agoStayed for 3 nights in the courtyard facing studio. Had our own beds and bathroom, daily room service and access to the communal kitchen and laundry room. No complaints. Great location and happy with the price. Would recommend courtyard studio ?a month agoI booked a bed in one of the dorm style rooms in the Lodge. The spring mattress was not very comfortable, but it was decent enough. With all the beds and people in the 8-bed room, it was VERY tight. Not a lot of space to put my things which was just one suitcase and one backpack. The kitchen was clean and well stocked, but the fridges were full of old food. Kind and helpful staff. I found some decent parking around the back on Packe St. Good for a short stay, but not much longer than a few days.2 months agoHere not like hostel like a dorm. If u stay short term than very good. If u wanna work this area and u will stay here long term than i dont recommend. Because u cant rest here too much. Very clear please. Everyday cleaning very good. I have big respect about that. Toilet shower everything is good. Room very nice for 8 people little too much. But if u stay couple days u cant care. U can stay. Generally i like here. Very nice place. Kitchen also nice. Only living room not enough. Very small area. Thank u guys ???????a month agoThe staff was horrid. The woman working the front desk, after yelling at another customer for speaking poor English, admitted to mistakingly giving our room away before we arrived. We booked a King bed room – but they had no more of that same style. Normally – a hotel person who screwed up would offer an upgrade or at least a similar room. Instead she offered us a room with 2 child-sized beds instead.
After 20 hours of flights, we were too tired to cancel and find another place so we just stayed, but it was massively underwhelming.
I believe the staff person, who told us she’d worked there for 8 months, should probably not be doing a customer-facing role as she seems to despise people.

We loved our (1 night) stay here. Excellent concept with a massive hang out room and a fully equipped kitchen. Lots of free food as well left by fellow travelers, which comes handy if you are short on anything and want to avoid the walk to the supermarket. The room was compact, but spotless clean and with a comfy bed. It was walking distance to the airport which was very convenient. Strongly recommended!
Rooms are in an okayish condition, carpets need to be exchanged badly though, you don’t get their smell out of the rooms. It’s a 4 minutes drive to the airport by car which is nice. There’s a supermarket nearby but other than that it’s an industrial area which is fine. What I don’t like is that they charge $15 for their parking. There’s free parking on the street in front but sometimes hard to get a free spot.
Awesome place to stay! Heaps of room. Fastest check in and check out ever. Reception is 24hrs so someone is always on hand to assist you. The male never sleeps I swear I saw him working early morning to past midnight when we returned and was there again when we had a 5am check out. Great service! Room was really clean and bed was comfortable. Loved the shower pressure so good! Location is great to Airport and rental car areas which we needed and right outside is plenty of food options for take out/dine in or a supermarket if you prefer to cook at lylo with their kitchen facilities which they have an abundance of. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here. Wifi works super well too and they have items for free of hire, sports balls etc. Parking on site is $15 a day but there is free parking road side further down. Awesome stay will be back!
Place is all nice and dandy when you get there and then you go to sleep…. I stayed in a pod and it was awful. The fan barely works… might as well be in an oven.
If it weren’t for this problem would be better but my goodness…. How the hell you supposed to sleep when it’s 50000 degreees. Fix this problem. I pay money for services and this is bad. I’ve been in the bush for 2 months… why did I come out and pay. Stay in the bush folks
This is a HOSTEL that has PODS and Private Rooms. We had the private room with bath. It was very small(very) The hotel looked worn and the room was VERY basic and showed uses on the walls. Charging $15 for parkign was also a negative in my opinion but it left a lot of spaces open and those who opted not to pay, parked on the street. This hotel is definitely targeting for those wanting for a low cost overnight stay.
