I book cheap motels for a single night for business mainly to have a shower and a good sleep and be ready for the next day. I don’t spend much time there. This small room was fine, however I should have got a motel that had a little table as I had some work to do. So…. Pros). Good shower. Bed OK. Air Conditioner was quiet and kept me cool all night with little noise. Tea and coffee was nice to have. Close to the Coast Hotel which is a nice place for dinner. Cons) Room No.20 had some type of insect ( small beetle). I saw a few adults ( size of the top of a pencil) and some younger ones. This room needs to be fumigated. It was too late to switch rooms. In the morning I had an itch from a bite on the back of my hand. Over 36 hrs later it is still itchy and slightly swollen. It’s annoying and painful.

We’ve consistently appreciated the Ibis group for its budget-friendly choices. However, our recent experience at this Ibis budget hotel fell short. Upon entering, we noticed a musty odor in the cramped room, lacking even a small desk. The combined shower and toilet made the bathroom excessively wet, and the fridge failed to cool adequately. The bed was decent, but overall, there are better alternatives at a similar price point.

Unlike other Ibis we have used before, this one was different in a bad way. The smelly carpets, room size was smaller, tiny toilet/bathroom and as you bath the shower curtain gets in contact with the skin. The bathroom fan was not working and it’s easy for the fire alarm to be triggered. The bathroom water would easily flow through the door to the room and so the carpet close to the door is a bit mouldy.

The staff is friendly and helpful.

Don’t do it – spend a bit more and be comfortable. I am naturally optimistic and see the silver lining, however – aside from location, right on the main hwy heading north or south the room was not very clean. Sheets had hair and the bottom bunk had a weird smell so my son slept in the double bed with us. The shower had mould and the shower curtain also mould. I felt like everything I touched had been cleaned with a dirty cloth. I spent $151 for the night – if I had spent $50..$80 for the night OKAY… but not for $151! Also – not the motels fault but next to a pub that pumped music until midnight, then a few of those people came into their rooms at 1 and 2 am making all sorts of loud noises and woke us all up. Not a good place for kids or if you need sleep!

Don’t stop here if you can help it. Absolutely disgusting, don’t understand how it even meets requirements to stay open. No exhausts in the bathrooms and they ask you to keep the door closed so the mould is horrendous. No soap in dispenser, shower curtain stunk of mildew and mould. Tap wouldn’t turn off (yet they say they care for the environment in their signage next to the tap). Bunk beds not sturdy, my son started to climb the ladder for bed and they started to tip, could have ended very badly. Heard someone else complain at reception, staff could not have cared less. Our room door was open when we arrived, did not lock easily which added to anxiety. All I wanted after a long drive was a cup of tea, no tea in the small supply that was in the room. Honestly probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in and there’s been a lot! Avoid it unless you are absolutely desperate!

  1. The room was comfortable and complete with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The location was absolutely incredible, right next to the beach. The resort was beautiful and there was so much for kids to do, a place for adults to escape and the staff were friendly.

The carpet in the rooms and bathrooms definitely need an update, however, in saying that, the cost for the rooms is fair and reflects this.

    Great stay overall!

  2. We had two units a three bedroom and a two bedroom for the weekend. Pricing was excellent. The rooms were so spacious and well equipped and the facilities at the resort were fantastic. It was a very private and relaxing resort to stay with family and friends for the weekend. I would definitely stay again.

  3. I wish I had gone through the reviews properly. Absolutely not worth the price! The WiFi is near non existent, the sofa beds look like they are from a garage sale – my 73 year old mother sat on the edge of the pull out bed and nearly fell right through. The service was shocking she would not give me extra towels and said I had to wash them to reuse. No room servicing and restaurant is closed. No bar or drinks available for the pool area. Very disappointed and kids everywhere! If you are not with kids I would also not recommend. The washing machine lid kept slamming down not enough room to open properly and there are no power points easily accessible in the room. The only saving grace is the location and the lizards but for what we paid it’s actually ridiculous.

  4. Beautiful resort the location is perfect. There is so much for kids to do and the beach is so close. Rooms were nice had everything we needed. Only downfall is you don’t get fresh towels daily and for the price you’re paying I would expect that service be included. Also $200 deposit for keys a little steep. Overall it’s a beautiful place and would highly recommend.

  5. Had a lovely stay in No80. Four adults down for the long weekend to go scuba diving.
The two bedrooms upstairs have airconditioning but none downstairs, however the air from the bedrooms will cool the downstairs area.
Beds were comfortable. Would be nice to have an option of a light weight blanket for the beds rather than just a sheet and doona. Found the towels supplied scratchy. First world problem I know but could be improved.
The kitchen area is a good size. Need to update the pots and pans. Non-stick surface gone. Not that expensive to replace from KMart. Also need to do an inventory on cutlery. Bit deficient in areas.
Easy access via the lock box at entrance 4. Entrance 5 is closer to this unit so we ended up parking in this car park.
The resort is based around the beach and it’s a short walk to this beach. We also used the pool which was lovely and clean
In all a lovely stay and great spot for families.
