Great location and great value. Manage to get a single room with just 60 dollars. But it has no air conditioning and the room I don’t know why but it is like an oven. But it is cheap though.

The restroom and shower is shared. But there is a fridge and TV in the room.

The staff are really nice and friendly. Just stay for night but he is kind enough to tell me the landmark in Rockhampton.

You can just park your car there and basically a lot of places are in walking distance as it is located in the town.

Overall it is not a bad place to stay if you are looking for a cheap hotel.

Went for lunch. Wasn’t very busy but still had a 45+ min wait for very underwhelming food, which then had to go back as it was missing items.

On the positive side, the bar man was friendly and the food was inexpensive. Though seem over priced to compensate.

    Wouldn’t bother returning.

The room was dirty, the aircon filter so clogged it would hardly work, the Tv was not on it’s mount on the wall and there was no remote. The door out to the balcony had glass that was almost falling out. Then the showers were filthy and moldy. The last problem is not the hotels fault. but might make you think again about this hotel…..thousands of birds roost in the trees by the river and they sqwark all night.

Loving the zing of the buffalo wings The tender ribs were a future order in the making.. The best coleslaw I’ve ever tasted. We came for the $12 Parma but definitely will be back for the $15 steak night!

  1. Beautiful old hotel we stopped in for a late lunch. All day dining available home cooked type meals but does have a wide variety of available. We had the rissoles and the Philly cheese steak sandwich. Both were amazing. Beautiful decor and clean. Seems like a good spot for dinner with a good atmosphere. Worth finding this place if your passing through. Highly recommend.

  2. Great pub, great location. Amazing staff, cold beer! The biggest dissapointment was the meals. Kids loved their meals. However my wife and I had steaks and ribs. The steaks unfortunately were not cooked by someone who knows how to cook steak ? my wife’s was v tough and mine as a medium rare was well over cooked. Not impressed. Was hoping for amazing steak considering this is the beef capital

  3. A classical old pub located in Rockhampton. Purposely stopped by this city just to check up this pub. There is a carpark in front of the hotel so parking is not a problem there.

Love the vibes inside the pub. There is a dining area and pub area but both are connected.

Food there definitely looks good but I just ordered fries as I was too full.

Bar tenders are friendly and nice

Overall love the vibes and enjoy it

  4. The heritage listed Criterion Hotel is a great place to stay, have a meal or just grab a drink.
Central location in Quay street on the banks of the Fitzroy River, it’s a short walk to a variety of stores and eateries.
The rooms are spacious and clean, and there is secure parking for your vehicle.
The meals are well priced, delicious and will fill you up.

  5. Great place with an abundance of charm and authenticity. Great value for money with large rooms, albeit a bit dated but well maintained. Only negative comment is that restaurant closed for orders at 21:00 and bar closed at 21:45.
