Top Movie Theater in Adelaide, Australia

A multiplex is a movie theater complex with multiple screens within a single complex. They are usually housed in a specially designed building. Sometimes, an existing venue undergoes a renovation where the existing auditoriums are split into smaller ones, or more auditoriums are added in an extension or expansion of the building. The largest of these complexes can sit thousands of people and are sometimes referred to as a megaplex.
The difference between a multiplex and a megaplex is related to the number of screens, but the dividing line is not well-defined. Some say that 16 screens and stadium seating make a megaplex, while others say that at least 24 screens are required. Megaplex theaters may have stadium seating or normal seating, and may have other amenities often not found at smaller movie theaters; multiplex theatres often feature regular seating. The Kinepolis-Madrid Ciudad de la Imagen megaplex in Spain, owned by the Belgian Kinepolis Group, is the largest movie theater in the world, with 25 screens and a seating capacity of 9,200, including one 996-seat auditorium.

It’s a great venue close to home. The only annoying thing is their pricing. It is different every time you go. We got charged full price and not offered seniors. We are hoyts club members.

Great place to go see a movie. Always have plenty of snacks & drinks to choose from. Plenty Toilets available. Only downside is its so popular when you go get your ticket its packed. So getting tickets online might prove quicker. But it is always great to recline back to wait your movie

Went here to watch the new Barbie movie. What an experience. Comfortable seating. Surround sound. Relaxed environment. I be going back for another movie. However I do think popcorn was way to salty. Paper straws, to thin, break of in your drink, making it hard to drink without spilling all over yourself. Hope they fix these issues.

Has recliner seats. Some of the seats need replacing, but it’s clean and tidy. Staff are attentive with quick friendly service.

  1. Cinema is good. Popcorn sold on the day I visited was more than a tad salty to my taste. However, I’m giving this place a 5-star rating not solely because of the cinema and amenities but the location. Around the area just a few steps away from the cinema are a number of restaurants: Nando’s, Grill’d, The Bavarian, TGIF, Kosso Korean BBQ, Bangkok restaurant, Vietnamese restaurant, Kintaro sushi (sushi train), Zitto coffee, Caffe Primo, etc. to name a few not to mention a small playground and an arcade. A very family friendly place…and a very good place, after watching a movie, to dine with friends and family or hang out after. Ample parking spaces and a good public toilet available onsite.

  2. Pricey but comfortable.
Seats are a little tight, however not as worn as Salisbury.
Bottle of water was $7.60 when that brand is no more than $2 elsewhere. Take your own drinks and snacks people.
Ticket prices are over priced also.

  3. Cinema is great. Customer service is fabulous! Ushers were polite and friendly.
    FNAF Movie is awesome!!
The main entry and food lobby were nice and clean. Welcoming.
However the exit area was trashed. Shame people drop so much rubbish!

  4. First time to a Lux Cinema and WOW !!
Such a hoot thoroughly enjoyed the experience ??
Food was delicious as was the mocktails
Service was outstanding really friendly staff who escort you to your lounge chairs

    Really impressive highly recommend

  5. We arrived just in time for a 10:15pm viewing, but were disappointed to find that the staff had already turned the coffee machine off. We saw the movie Godzilla Minus One, which was the best Godzilla movie, in my opinion. An excellent story and great acting. Unfortunately the audio in the theatre was disappointing. I like my action movies to be loud, but this movie, I had to cover my ears because it was way too loud and nearly devoid of bass. The woofers and subwoofers seemed absent. So the mid-range and treble were at off the chart levels in the action scenes trying to compensate. Of course there were no staff anywhere to be seen after the movie, so no-one to complain to.
