Awesome park and playground with lots of equipments for kids to play, tons of beautiful big trees and a lovely water park for kids and adults alike!! Also got a toy train ride which is a great addition. A good toilet space would’ve made it better.

This is an awesome little park. The playground is great and the little train rides are absolutely fantastic! The kids had a ball here. We can’t wait to bring the kids back here on our next holiday!

This park is a staple and cultural part of a lismorian child as many memories are made here. The park is overly clean as well as the equipment/ playground. The train is a must when coming here as it is fun and pretty cool. Great seating as it is under cover so you can escape the sun or if it is raining

Awesome playground, picnic area, and adventure park for kids and adults! I’d say kids up to 10, not older kids. Play equipment is awesome. The water section is like a kid-magnet. The picnic facilities are top-notch. The train ride is a huge favourite and the cost is very reasonable, even with a big group of kids. Highly recommend this place for kids’ birthdays, a day out, or just a quick break on your road trip!

Great park for toddlers and primary aged. Loads of different play equipment. Fenced except for entrance and mini railway crossing. Lots of seating and picnic tables. Shady. Skate park across the road. Toilets, BBQs, water fountain. Wheelchair and pram access including play equipment for those in a wheelchair. Some paths suitable for prams/wheelchairs. My favourite is the snakes and ladders made of tiles.

  1. Mixed feelings about this place. The entry fee is a bit steep for what is there compared to other places. There isn’t a lot to see and very little interaction with the animals, however there is Putt Putt and a small water area for little ones to play.
The lady at the ticket counter obviously didn’t want to be there so didn’t really set the mood, but we found all the other staff very friendly and helpful. There are some lovely things in the gift shop.
The cafe staff were very friendly, quick and everything was great

  2. Quaint sanctuary with not a lot of animals but a decent child friendly selection, and the lack of crowds was a plus. The family enjoyed the experience, but we think it was more pricier than it needed to be. The wait time in the cafe was terrible, it took more than an hour for a Kids Fish and Chips, Bacon and Egg Roll, and Cheese Burger with Chips. The coffee was decent and table service was okay, but more than an hour wait for simple selections is terrible.

  3. We have just returned from the BEST day out with the whole family at Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. As we were celebrating a birthday we chose the VIP experience. Joshua was our wonderful keeper for the day, who met us at the gate, showed us around the park and taught us so many wonderful new things about wildlife.
The park is intimate, but it is so clean and the animals and their enclosures were extremely clean and well-maintained. It was a joy to see.
Every staff member from the cafe to the shop and front of the house was friendly and nothing was too much bother.
Every keeper was happy and spent time during all the shows answering the questions of the children as well as the big kids like me.
The admission price was very reasonable and the encounters were so well priced we will be back. We took the VIP experience package as it worked out cheaper for the whole family to come and have admission, a Barn Owl encounter, a Tawny frog mouth encounter, 2 lovely Snakes and a Blue tongue lizard encounter, we got to cuddle rabbits and guinea pigs, have fun with the sugar gliders as well as getting a welcoming coffee on arrival, pancakes for morning tea, a chose of lunch and beverage and to end the day a packet of nuts and a gin and tonic!
I would recommend this VIP pass to everyone. To have Joshua with us all the time we we were in the park we got a one-on-one with each of the animals. Our private tutor. Saw the back of the house and was explained all about the workings of the sanctuary and mobile hospital as well as met the amazing animals. It was a wonderful day and we will be returning. Thank you to all the staff at Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary for making our day perfect.

  4. Can 110% recommend. We had a great time and stayed longer than expected, good value for money (family $90). The park is very small but is making up for its size by great extras like splash pad, mini golf and talks. Staff is great and knowledge and the talks are small enough to get up close with the animals and ask questions. Enjoyed it more than the bigger more commercial parks.
