I recently had the pleasure of visiting this serene oasis, and it exceeded all my expectations. The garden’s beauty is unmatched, with a vast collection of plants and flowers that will delight any nature lover. ??
The diverse range of themed gardens, including the Rose Garden and the Water Garden, offers a delightful experience for every season. The carefully manicured landscapes, stunning floral displays, and tranquil water features create a sense of peace and tranquility. ??
One of the highlights for me was the Avon River, which gently winds its way through the garden. You can even take a punt ride for a unique perspective of the surroundings. ?♂️
The garden’s free entry is a bonus, making it accessible to all. It’s a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll, a family picnic, or simply finding a quiet corner to relax and escape the city’s hustle and bustle. ??
Overall, Christchurch Botanic Garden is a must-visit destination for locals and tourists alike. Whether you’re a botany enthusiast, a photographer, or just someone looking for a peaceful retreat, this place has something for everyone. ??
I couldn’t recommend it more highly, and I can’t wait to return to witness its beauty in different seasons. Don’t miss out on this green paradise in the heart of Christchurch!” ??
One of my favorite go-to places to relax. Spring time is the best season to visit as the flowers are in full bloom. All sorts of colors will flood your senses ? Aside from that, there’s also a playground with a paddling pool nearby so the kids will also enjoy.
Lots of big and amazing trees. The Giant Redwood tree is magnificent. The Rose garden is a must see. Lots of different varieties or colors of roses. Under the big glass dome, you will wind many subtropical plants. I like the cactus room and room with lots of pitcher plants. A beautiful big garden for a walk with beautiful avon river. Parking is pretty reasonable inside the park. I also love the beautiful weeping willow trees.
The gardens are stunning! They are so close to where we stayed and it was open on Christmas Day! It was a lovely place to walk through and there are so many places to stop for a minute and enjoy the birds and life there. There are also so many little places to read or sit for a minute. Definitely worth a wander while in Christchurch.
These free gardens are an absolute delight, weather you come to view the wonderful flowers, or marvel at the history of the trees, you can just chill reading a book, these gardens are adorable for all, plus you can always get a coffee at one of the cafe in the grounds
