10 months agoBotanic Park is a lovely place with beautiful green surroundings and it’s very peaceful there. You have to pay to get in, and the passes are given out by the Forest Research Institute. The prices for the passes are reasonable. The park has some small huts, fireplaces for cooking, a playground for kids, and a public bathroom that’s currently closed. The playground is not very safe for children, so be careful. You should also watch out for snakes and spiders in the area.
Despite these issues, I think Botanic Park is a great place to visit, especially since it’s a calm and natural spot in the middle of the city. I recommend it for anyone who wants an affordable place to have a picnic or relax, but keep in mind the downsides.
Enjoy!

Beautiful green sanctuary within the he heart of the city. Wish there would be descriptions of the particular plants available.
Went for birthday function. Was a good one!
Have been to the Lae Botanical Gardens 3 times now. Twice for SME Markets and once for Adventist Community Services Craft Market.
The gardens are used to host events, especially the craft markets. A lovely, natural habitat to relax and be close to nature with the trees around.
It’s amazing, that I help so many people located my place
There are stall markets selling PNG stuff like Blouses, bilums, baskets, carvings, sketches and paintings etc…
The markets are held once a month
Check out notices on the road side of the botanical gardens
