Stop here for fresh vieneoisserie, baked bread, coffees! Huge selection of fresh produce!
The locals sell their wares as well! Selection includes tshirts, sarongs, handmade soaps, vanilla bead pods/seasonings, fans, magnets, Plumeria flower headbands, jewelry, canvas tote bags and trinkets. One little section of stalls but enough if you’re looking for some souvenirs. They take AUS dollars and most folks take credit cards (mostly Visa, some take Amex).
Nice little market.
(On a side note- we visited the Johnston grocery store before we stopped here and found magnets, postcards and a few trinkets- along with awesome chocolates and snacks). It was great being able to use our Credit card to pay and not convert currency or pull from an ATM.
It is a must visit, you can get some souvenirs, local produce, and seafood. Rather overpriced (as expected) since they tailor to tourists. Prices are typically 20-30% higher than in Australia (1 medium pineapple approx 10-13 AUD, 1kg bananas 10AUD). Souvenirs are made in China. For local crafts I was told to browse smaller art stores in the city but I didn’t have enough time to investigate.

Good place to buy veggies and local fruits, You can also buy souvenir’s. Try local banana’s they were good.
Worth a visit to see the local produce and seafood. Easy walk from the cruise ship / ferry terminal. Good chance to buy souvenirs if nothing is open. Prices looked high, as expected in a tourist oriented market.
