Pros and Cons of Shopping at Woolworth
Woolworths and traditional markets both offer different shopping experiences that cater to different needs and preferences. Here are some pros and cons to consider when choosing between the two:
Woolworth:
- Pros:
- – Convenience: Woolworths stores are typically located in easily accessible areas, making it convenient for shoppers to visit.
- – Wide variety: Woolworths offers a wide range of products, including groceries, clothing, household items, and electronics, providing shoppers with one-stop shopping convenience.
- – Quality assurance: Woolworths often offers branded products, ensuring a certain level of quality for shoppers.
- – Online shopping: Woolworths also provides the option for shoppers to purchase items online and have them delivered to their doorstep, saving time and effort.
- Cons:
- – Higher prices: Compared to traditional markets, Woolworths products are generally priced higher due to factors such as branding and convenience.
- – Limited bargaining: Shoppers may not have the opportunity to negotiate prices or bargain with sellers as they would in traditional markets.
- – Less personal interaction: The shopping experience at Woolworths may lack the personal interaction and connection that can be found in traditional markets.
Traditional market:
- Pros:
- – Lower prices: Traditional markets often offer products at lower prices compared to Woolworth, as they usually source directly from producers or wholesalers.
- – Bargaining opportunities: Shoppers can negotiate prices or bargain with sellers, potentially obtaining better deals.
- – Fresh and local products: Traditional markets are known for offering a variety of fresh and locally sourced products, allowing shoppers to support local businesses and enjoy a unique shopping experience.
- – Personal interaction: Shoppers can directly communicate with sellers, forming connections and gaining insights about the products they are purchasing.
- Cons:
- – Limited variety: Traditional markets may have a limited range of products compared to larger stores like Woolworth.
- – Inconvenience: Traditional markets are often located in specific areas, requiring shoppers to travel to reach them.
- – Time-consuming: Shopping at traditional markets can be more time-consuming due to the need to visit multiple stalls or vendors to find everything on your shopping list.
Ultimately, the choice between Woolworths and traditional markets depends on personal preferences, budget, and shopping needs. While Woolworths offers convenience, a wide variety, and quality assurance, traditional markets provide lower prices, bargaining opportunities, fresh and local products, and personal interaction.

2 months agoToday shopping in Woolies at Pialba I noticed Cadbury’s chocolate was on special but couldn’t find the dark 70%. Initially I was going to climb the shelves because I am rather small and a lady shop assistant asked if she could help.
She looked and there were none on the shelves and she said ‘perhaps there’s some in health and beauty’ and off she went.
I was inpatient and grabbed Lindt instead and continued shopping.
I was about 4 aisles further along and a very tall young male shop assistant asked if I was looking for Old Gold 70%. He had a new box of Old Gold in his hands and I took 4 blocks.
What great customer service. Thank you both of you.2 months agoI waited in line for over 5 minutes while nobody served at the deli. They were four of them, all in their own worlds while talking to each other, while customers accumulated. I finally had to ask if any of them were servicing since I was first in line. And once said, she served a guy behind me. Not happy and all of those women who was in the deli on the 4th of June 2023 should be fired, due to their disrespect towards customers and they aren’t doing anything to make to Woolworths brand great. Will not be back. Go to urangan Woolworths cause at least they know decent and BASIC customer service.a month agoI would like to start by saying that i have never had a problem with the staff or any drama with this store.
This woolies always seems to have a steady flow of customers, and can get way too buzy for my liking at times.
Which can also lead to noticeable shortages on occasions e.g. toilet paper, chips, bread, meat.
Not all the time but it is noticeable when it is happening and really is in my opinion just due to the large customer base this shop carries.
Which is a credit to the staff who are usually always available to assist with enquiries.4 months agoNot happy. Everytime I come to get Berlina from the deli:
1.They either don’t have it.
2. They won’t shave it because they “have just cleaned the slicer” – its 5pm and you close at 9pm…… why is the slicer an issue? – Which what made me write this review (I’m honestly sick of not being able to get it, I walk away 9 times out of 10 from this shop without it)
3. There is no one with a certificate to slice……5 months agoBusy store. Plenty of range and a good sized parking area. Smaller self service checks outs and the regular manned checkouts.
Store was clean, nicely laid out and well stocked.

in the last weekJust a heads up to anyone looking to shop at Woolies in Eli Waters. They have revamped the store, and there’s NO express checkout anymore – forcing to wait in line if you want to keep people in jobs and not use the self serve which half time scan items with wrong prices. Disappointing when all you want in a few items and keep people in jobs.2 weeks agoThe entire deli is currently being renovated, good on the store for doing this, but on this visit definitely lead to me having a less successful shopping experience than I usually would here2 months agoGreat team and professional service. Looks like a well rounded store. Eclectic look to the centre and plenty of variety.2 months agoEasy for parking, & the supermarket itself isn’t miles away inside the center. Good selection of products too.4 months agoToo expensive compared with other stores it has a lot of low cost rentals in the area. It had been marked out as an exclusive suburb, but it’s not mostly rentals a lot of Spec homes built in the area.

5 Replies to The 3 Biggest Woolworths Supermarkets in Hervey Bay, Australia
I just need money, no ATM on a Sunday. I walked in, asked the girl in the serve yourself area, she was delighted to show me to a register. I entered my details, recieved my money and left. Happy doing business with you Woolies. Thank you.
Have never been to a supermarket with so many “out of stock” items as this store has. Even Woolworths own brand products are missing. Empty shelves everywhere. And that observation is from several visits over a 3 month period. No more shopping here for me.
Where’s this “new rule” were the shop assistant no longer assistants with putting your shopping in your trolley??? My mumma is in her late 7O’s and requires help but was told she has to do it herself from here on in?? absolutely deplorable (especially when ya handing over money for way over inflated prices for standard groceries) I’m just simply disgusted
Located in a small shopping centre. Has all the groceries you need.
Just popped in to grab a few nick nacks.
Gave up doing my online shopping here as so many items are out of stock on the regular. Switched to another supermarket and have gone a whole month with literally no product being subbed.
