Would give 0 stars if possible. Zero consideration. Not willing to help people with individual circumstances. No understanding or kindness. It was hard enough to get into the car to drive here and I wouldn’t even be seen because I had a fever

The receptionist today just extremely rude. Never at the counter, and playing with her phone at the back. Just rude without any work ethic! I don’t like giving one star cos doctors are great here. Wish she can be replaced by someone with more work ethic and friendly.

I wish I could give zero stars for the service at the reception. It’s a medical centre where people come for help, you would hope they would show some empathy and actually care. The wait wasn’t long which was nice but hearing the lady repeatedly be rude to each patient and not listening and would send people away because she couldn’t “hear them” was actually something I couldn’t bare to listen to. Once patients left they would gossip and not say very nice things which was sickening. If you want a medical centre that shows remorse and actually cares about your health then don’t come here.

Big thankyou to dr Kelly and dr Melnick. Our mum was seeing dr Melnick for over 10 years, Who helped her so much in keeping her health condition under control. Due to her health condition in the last 3 years we had to see dr Kelly. Dr Kelly has been amazing. We are so great full to have Dr Kelly as a doctor who genuinely cares for the patient welfare, even though this is a after hours surgery. Both these doctors have saved my mum’s life and for that I will be for ever great full. These doctors deserve a metal for what they have to put up with. (MG BG)

Some of the doctors are good. HOWEVER, in my view, a very dangerous doctor (Dr Kelly Laurance) works there as well. He takes an hour with you where he talks about things that are completely irrelevant, when you only need a script. while people are waiting desperately. In one occasion he was falling asleep a few times in front of my eyes. He touched me when he didn’t need to inappropriately in my eyes. And the worse thing – he recommended and prescribed a drug that has caused me great damage without warning about how to safely take it. The other doctors in this are actually pretty good in my eyes, but DO NOT agree to sit there and wait for Dr Laurance (if you end up there, make sure you don’t see him!). If you find yourself needing a doctor afterhours, there are other places and the hospital, and ER might actually see you faster (I have waited a few hours sometimes in this after hours doctors southport).

Planning to Visit an Australian General Practitioner? Here’s What You Should Consider!

When visiting a general practitioner (GP) in Australia, there are several things to consider to ensure the best possible healthcare experience. These considerations include:

  • Choosing a GP: It is important to choose a GP that meets your specific needs and preferences. Consider factors such as location, availability, language proficiency, and any specializations or areas of expertise the GP may have.
  • Appointment booking: Most GPs in Australia require appointments for consultations. It is advisable to book appointments in advance to avoid long waiting times or rejection of walk-in patients.
  • Medical history: Before visiting a GP, it is helpful to gather and organize your medical history, including information about previous illnesses, medications, allergies, and vaccinations. This will assist the GP in providing appropriate care and making accurate diagnoses.
  • Insurance coverage: If you have private health insurance, check whether the GP you plan to visit is covered by your insurance provider. It is also important to understand the terms and conditions of your insurance coverage, including any out-of-pocket costs.
  • Communication and language: Clear and effective communication with your GP is essential for effective healthcare. If English is not your first language and you have limited proficiency, consider finding a GP who speaks your native language or seek assistance from a translator.
  • Follow-up appointments: Depending on your condition, you may require follow-up appointments with your GP. It is important to schedule and attend these appointments to ensure proper monitoring of your health and any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan.
  • Medication and prescriptions: If your GP prescribes medications, ensure you understand the instructions for taking them and any potential side effects. It is also important to follow up with the GP if you experience any adverse reactions to the medication.
  • Payment and fees: GPs in Australia usually charge consultation fees, which can vary depending on the GP’s experience, location, and other factors. It is important to clarify the fees before your appointment and be prepared to pay them at the time of consultation.
  • Referrals to specialists: GPs are often the first point of contact for accessing specialist care. If your GP refers you to a specialist, ensure you understand the nature of the referral, why it is necessary, and any associated costs or waiting times.

  1. I was recently so exceptionally unwell and I attended Dr Sarah Morell on one Monday evening not expecting her to be able to fit me in. She was so thorough and ensured she had an in depth understanding of the history of my medical condition. She was empathetic but firm on the importance of getting to a hospital asap.I’ve now been here in hospital for 10 days and the specialist was so impressed Dr Morell acted without hesitation. I’ve seen many doctors at this practice and they’re all caring, knowledgeable and responsive whenever, I’ve need urgent or just regular care. Thank you ? I appreciate your skill, professionalism and kindness

  2. They are open till late which is convenient as I often work after hours. I’m often late to the medical centres that are open, making it extremely difficult for me to receive health care. They’re they everyday for me which I love. Very nice and caring doctors, would definitely recommend.

  3. Dr Sarah has been amazing. She shows genuine concern and listened to me intently. It’s also great that I can see a doctor in the evenings due to my busy schedule. Overall 5 stars!!!

  4. absolutely awesome clinic, open till 10pm weekdays which is so convenient. Dr Sarah is the most caring and lovely GP i have come across and the staff are exceptionally friendly. highly recommend this medical centre ☺️
