I would walk this trail when the water is lowering as you will be surprised at what you see with the wildlife, I would just take a bottle of bug spray as the mosquitoes were just surrounding us, that’s the downside. The small trail is not bad for wheelchairs just a bit bumpy in some parts and takes it slow.

Nice cool walk through beautiful Paper Bark forest. The forest at the moment suffers a little from past Cyclone damage and dry conditions. The sound of a variety birds is the only music you need on this wonderful walk past a variety of plants. Recently the Paper Barks were all out in flower and the smell of honey filled the air. Escape the hum drum and hustle and bustle and take a nice quiet walk.

  1. This is a nice uninterrupted walking path for you & the family. In the mornings 7am-11am or around 3-5pm in the afternoon are good times of the day to do the walk. Lots of local wild life, ducks & turtles can be viewed from a built in bridge that is along the path, with parent supervision for children.

Be alert & cautious when around the pond. I would recommend not letting children play near the pond & for the families to stay on the walking path.

One downside of the track is that when it rains heavily the pond fills quickly & the area becomes a little muddy.

Overall the Gooseponds Walking Track is a fun family friendly activity that can be enjoyed by all ages.

  2. Love walking here! These are pictures of me, my brother, Mervyn, sister-in-law, Amina and baby boy Jude. We walked after the Colour Frenzy event that was held on 6th September, 2020. Happy Father’s Day to all the Dad’s.

  3. Such a great place for the whole family. There are public toilets located near the Pioneer Pool entrance, a variety of playgrounds, enclosed dog park, skate park, and more! Bring some bread to feed the ducks, or enjoy a walk/ride around the various lakes. Plenty of shade from all the big trees.
