2 weeks agoReally great activity to do on a rainy day (after a yummy lunch at the retro Jukebox Diner. Tickets for us adults were $20, but our son was free (he’s 2) which we thought was a fair price. There is so much to see in the Classics Museum & everything is so well looked after and displayed. There isn’t much you can touch or sit on (except for a few car themed couches) but it’s totally understandable. Highly recommended!3 months agoMore than I expected and the detailed walls lining the museum displaying automotive signs and all thing automotive are fascinating. A wide range of vehicles in top condition and well displayed from fire engines, very collectable cars to motorbikes 100% worth a visit. And a cafe on site with great food is an added bonus3 weeks agoService was good??,the museum are great and beautiful. I just really hope they not charge for corcage. But all in all it’s best place to see the old cars the so amusing3 months agoAn amazing collection of beautiful old vehicles, ranging from the iconic to beautiful deco designs. There are some rare beauties in this collection. Along with motoring memorabilia .I really enjoyed my visit5 months agoVery nice setup, some real classic cars and memorabilia here

Went for the free exhibitions that shows an extensive collection of Maori artifacts and artworks. The museum has spacious galleries and modern facilities. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable with enquiries.
Awesome place to check out with kids. Museum is free but they have a kids area that’s $5 for adults and $10 for kids. It has two levels filled with toys ,pretend gardens ,science things. Kids absolutely loved it and had a great time. Loved how the pretend campfire had Māori songs to pick from too. The place was tidy and the staff were lovely. Also if you hand your ticket back at the end you get a packet of seeds. We got kowhai seeds and can’t wait to plant them.
Waikato museum ( and art gallery) punches well above its provincial centre status. a compulsory visit place. exhibitions are exceptional , but also truthful to the artist.
*EDITED* The price has increased since I wrote this. It is now $5 per adult and $10 per children OR $29 for a family of up to 2 adults and 3 kids. Leaving the original review so people can read the price increase. The Museum itself was lacking excitement for children, however we found out there was a kids area. This is $3 per adults & $6 per child UNLESS you have a community services card, in which case it’s $3pp. Huge area, many many different I interactive activities with the most popular being the Mario Carts!
Definitely a great school holiday, or even weekend, visit! Opens at 10am.
Great museum I would recommend to everyone. Lots of free interesting exhibitions and a two floor play area (entrance fee) for kids (and kids at soul). Very educational and fun at the same time.
