Nice store with friendly staff. I loved it! I purchased a charcoal chimney, so now I have one of those to use when I’m firing up the grill and going to town on some delicious chicken or other yummy grillables. I also throw some corn on there to balance out the meal. A real man never runs from a challenge. Unless, of course, the challenge is the running of the bulls in Pamplona because that’s the whole point of that challenge. Plus, I’m not sure you’re ever going to defeat a bull running full speed through the streets. But what do I know.

It is a very clean place with generally friendly and helpful staff. They have a variety of tools and equipment. When looking for electrical stuff, check near the Lighting section.

Prices are steep compared to Harbour Freight, but they have some quality brands.

My husband and I had a most wonderful and satisfying experience yesterday while shopping at the Mission Valley Lowe’s in San Diego. The reason for that was the extraordinary sales consultant Dan from the Doors department. We were buying the baseboards and needed a LOT of them. Frankly, knowing how long they are (12 feet!) I was dreading even thinking of that purchase…. I saw a sales person sitting at the Doors department and asked him if we could have someone to help us with the baseboards. Dan said that he can do that! And boy, did he!!! Not only he immediately located the baseboards we needed, – he said he would collect them for us and place them on the cart. The baseboards came in a pack of 10 and were not only extra long but heavy too. To add to this “burden” (in all senses of this word) I was very picky and Dan had to move quite a few of the heavy packs for me to choose the best ones. He did! After we chose the baseboards Dan was so kind as to offer us to tape them and to make sure the baseboards were ready for our contractor to pick them up. My husband and I are so taken by this amazing customer service that we received from Dan who rightfully deserves all the credit! What a great, knowledgeable and extremely pleasant employee! Thank you, Dan!!! You made our day!

There are really kind staff at this Lowe’s. I’ve always had a good experience whether I’m buying stuff or just browsing. I bring my German Shepherd here to walk around sometimes because she loves looking and smelling inside the store. Today she had a slight medical emergency and pooped actual blood in the middle of the isle randomly. I won’t show pictures because it was gross… it looked like a can of tomato paste was dropped on the floor. Two employees helped me clean it even though I said they didn’t have to. They were so kind to us. They didn’t ask questions or make us feel bad, just got clean up stuff for me and helped out. Overall great customer service. Thank you!

Great deals, excellent staff at the Miramar location who are willing to help and who will roam the floor to offer help. Great tools, ranging from entry-level stuff to a new house brand of highline hand tools that are excellent. also a great place to find solar power project materials and led off-road lights.

The employees were not very cordial in initial greeting or helpful when I asked a question. The store wasn’t very busy, and even after asking for a specific item, no one showed any Customer Service by showing me where it was. In frustration, I left. I won’t be coming back.

Nice selection, although there are holes in their inventory. Like having wall patches but not carrying wall putty. They do have a nice tool selection ranging from cheap to expensive.

Great staff. Tool selection is vast. From garden to auto shop, welding to carpentry. Prices are very competitive. Lifetime warranty on hand tools. If you are a member of their discount program, the prices are even better. If you sign up for the mailer, they have freebies too!

Hardware Store in San Diego CA: Do’s and Don’ts Every Shopper Should Know

When shopping at a hardware store, it is important to know and follow certain rules to ensure a smooth and efficient experience. Here are some rules to keep in mind:

  • Wear appropriate attire: To ensure safety, it is advisable to wear closed-toe shoes and avoid loose clothing or accessories that may get caught in machinery.
  • Follow the store’s COVID-19 guidelines: In light of the ongoing pandemic, it is important to adhere to any safety measures put in place by the store, such as wearing masks or maintaining social distancing.
  • Bring measurements and plans: If you are shopping for specific items, it is helpful to bring measurements and plans to ensure you purchase the correct materials or tools.
  • Ask for assistance if needed: If you are unsure about a product or need help locating an item, don’t hesitate to ask a store employee for assistance. They are there to help and can provide valuable guidance.
  • Don’t open sealed packages: It is important to respect the integrity of sealed packages. If you need to examine a product further, ask a store employee for assistance or check if there is a display model available.
  • Be mindful of other shoppers: Hardware stores can be busy places, so be considerate of other shoppers by not blocking aisles or taking up excessive space. Allow others to access the products and prioritize courteous behavior.
  • Respect safety precautions: Hardware stores often have safety precautions in place, such as warning signs, restricted areas, or safety barriers. It is crucial to respect these precautions for your own safety and the safety of others.
  • Return unused items properly: If you no longer need a purchased item, put it back in its proper place rather than leaving it in a random location. This will help maintain order in the store and ensure that items are readily available for others.

  1. I can’t give it 5 stars I just can’t I waited 16 minutes and yet I got no help at the wood place in the back for cutting but that’s not because I didn’t stop six workers and ask them hi who can help me two of them in fact just walked on by me one lady and one man who I think pretended he didn’t speak English that was a shame I mean a true shame but after I don’t know talking to Nancy who is in the front the manager explaining that I don’t have time for this kind of shenanigans it’s great that they’re understaffed I get that but what does that have to do with the fact that every employee in there was unable to help me except for the one person who happened to be on lunch are you kidding me only one Woodcutter then I get home copying this all off and I asked for 10 in and 3/4 of a quarter that’s 10 and 3/4 and one of them was 10 and 3/4 the other one was nine and a half so what does that tell you clearly that person just knew how to push the button on four stars it is but hopefully they can improve

  2. This review is for the employee who works at the window blinds and shutter area, as well as, the assistant manager, Bernardi. I came to this store thought I could get some help but I was wrong and left traumatized. I spoke with Will, in the window section, I don’t know if that’s really him but he was a short, Hispanic, tattoos on his arms, gay guy I think. Anyway, I told will that I am planning to get either blinds or shutters for my house but haven’t decided yet. I informed him that I want everything the same color and texture for the blinds in my kitchen and living rooms. Right awahe was very dismissive and not interested in helping me. He told me what kind etc, so I again I told him that I want to replace what my mom got and get multiple blinds that are going to be the same color and texture. He went on and on, asked me if I want with string, so I told him that I wanted a “no string” then he responded, well, everything here is no strings. I was astounded to hear from him because not only he didn’t want to listen but he was extremely rude, dismissive, arrogant and flamboyant. I ignored his remarks since I needed his help so I went on but he continued patronizing me. He told me that it would be special order etc. I said it’s alright. He got up to help another customer and came back to me and continued berating me. He asked me again about the blind so I told him that I already spoke with someone before at the same store but asked me for measurements so that’s why I am there to get quotes. He didn’t want to listen to me instead asking what kind of blind. I told him once more about the same colors and texture then asked him what would be his recommendation and said his “it’s your preference!” I told him that I am just asking about whether it’s a wood, vinyl, for his opinion but he dismissed me. At that point I was already upset and got up from my chair. He told and didn’t even ask me to sit back to my chair. I was infuriated because not only this guy was rude but also patronizing me! I told him I am done and as I walk away, he aggravated me more with his devious , “ hope you have a good day!” I was so upset that I curse at him and called him names. I went to customer service and demanded to speak with the store manager and after few minutes, I spoke with the manager assigned in tiles and window blinds named, Jonathan, who was a short, wears eyeglasses, young Hispanic guy. I explained to Jonathan what happened but I guess they also called, Bernardi, buffed, Caucasian, who had receding hairline, who introduced himself as the store manager. I told Bernardi what happened including the gender of Will but he took it the wrong way, instead, attacking me telling it was irrelevant and wasn’t interested to listen to me. So I continued my story by the end of telling him what happened he told me, “ So how can I help you? I mean I don’t understand what do you want?” He continued, “ well, he asked you to sit down so he can help but you didn’t want , so what now?” I could almost feel I wasn’t welcome in the store and complaints are not welcome over there. I told Bernardi that I am frustrated that I also work in the healthcare but would never treat people like that but he was not interested at all. He just said,” so I don’t think I can help you maybe Jonathan will” and he just walked away from me without any resolution. I asked Jonathan if could get the corporate’s number so I could file a complaint which he provided me. I wasn’t even asking for any free or special treatment but those people need to be scrutinize for their I’ll behavior. I hope the corporate will see this and take matters into consideration.

  3. I visit this store often and this last time I visited I was waiting for sand bags to arrive from a delivery truck for hours due to the Hillary hurricane and when asking/relaying my concerns to the store manager Dave about the lack of organization, he had abruptly and rudely ended the call while I was waiting in a group of people for this truck to come in store. He needs to go back to management training, very disappointing.

  4. This home depots customer service and the amount of what they have in stock has gone down hill extremely fast. I have recently dealt with unmotivated employees that make no attempt to acknowledge a customer or check on an item that shows on the app that they have them. The response has been we don’t have them, you might want to go to Lemon Grove. I don’t know who keeps track of what they are suppose to have in stock but there is a serious issue, I recently went in for rain gutter items, the app said they had 600 of the pieces I needed. After trying to get someone’s attention I was told that those 600 pieces disappeared and they can’t find them.Even the simplest thing like finding a metric bolt is a waste of time, you will open up the drawers that have hardware and it is almost empty. It has turned into a waste of time to go there, I am not going to go to Lemon Grove for items this store should have. I plan to shop on line thru places like Amazon or Lowes to no long give my money to home depot.

  5. Curbside is a joke…they have you call the main store..and say “manager”..if your waiting longer than 5mins. I’ve been on hold for 10mins with the additional 14mins waiting for my order. If I could physically go inside I wouldn’t have had to wait this long … Lemon grove home depot is definitely better… such a disappointment ?
